Hannah’s Surrogacy Offer: A Stunning Twist for Chicago Med’s Season 11!

Be cautious if you haven’t watched the latest episode of Chicago Med, titled “The Stories We Tell Ourselves,” which is currently streaming on Peacock.

Surprisingly, One Chicago fans, it appears that the spring 2025 TV schedule is drawing to a close, but NBC hasn’t given any hint yet about whether Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. will return in the fall. Despite this uncertainty, it seems likely that they will come back, and I find myself more curious about what lies ahead for Hannah in Season 11 rather than doubting if there will even be a Season 11. The Gaffney’s ED OB/GYN made an audacious proposal to her sister, with Dr. Archer swiftly highlighting all the potential issues.

Chicago Med Is Running Out Of Episodes

Initially, let’s address the main point: The remaining episodes for the ongoing tenth season of Chicago Med are limited to just three, following “The Stories We Tell Ourselves.” Given this short time frame, it appears there may not be enough room to fully resolve Hannah’s storyline from Episode 19. However, if Chicago Med decides to wrap up Hannah’s story swiftly, it could potentially tie up loose ends more quickly than expected.

From the preview, it seems that the upcoming episode may not delve deeply into Hannah’s narrative. Take a look!

Absolutely, appearances can sometimes be misleading, and it seems likely that those hospital nurse coughing scenes were strategically edited to add drama, as a way for nurses to simulate illness in order to stage a walkout following the breakdown of contract talks. However, this doesn’t make the plot any less engaging, since doctors aren’t the only ones who rely on the consistent presence of nurses. In fact, even fictional medical characters without an M.D. can take center stage!

Hannah’s Big Story

In the previous episode before “The Stories We Tell Ourselves,” I had some worries about Hannah, as the choice to perform a hysterectomy to save her sister’s life was a heavy decision, one that Lizzy might not understand immediately. It brought back memories of an earlier Season 10 episode where Hannah confessed she might want children now, but then faced a tragic situation involving a patient.

Upon noticing Hannah’s remorse over Lizzy’s hysterectomy, I became wary that she might propose to act as a surrogate for her sister’s final embryo. This suspicion arose particularly after Lizzy expressed discomfort about trusting a stranger with the task of carrying her sole chance at biologically birthing a child.

In my opinion, Hannah casually proposed an idea to Archer, unknowingly sparking her sister’s excitement by extending the offer. However, their recent bonding session over Captain Crunch Berries didn’t necessarily soften Archer’s gruff demeanor in expressing his thoughts.

When she tried to evade my questions about her blood test, she casually mentioned that she was thinking about offering to be a surrogate for Lizzy. From the get-go, it was evident I wasn’t fully on board with her idea, as my first response upon hearing they hadn’t discussed it yet was “Thank goodness.” Then, I shared my reservations with her, explaining why I thought it could potentially be problematic.

I understand your desire to assist your sister, but there are some extremely important factors to bear in mind. Giving up a child is incredibly challenging… Pregnancy brings with it strong emotions and a deep bond forms between mother and child – this connection is instinctual.

Hannah responded to every one of his arguments with a rebuttal of her own, even using the sharp retort, “You’re essentially trying to explain pregnancy to an OB/GYN?” However, I can’t help but view Archer’s perspective as potentially hinting at challenges that Hannah might face in Season 11. She warned Archer to keep out of it if he wasn’t going to be supportive, though I suspect that won’t last long!

By the episode’s end, no definitive decision had been reached, as Lizzy was yet to respond (either positively or negatively) to Hannah’s proposal. With several episodes remaining before Season 10 wraps up, it remains unclear whether Lizzy will accept Hannah’s generous offer. Interestingly, despite Lizzy arguing that Hannah doesn’t owe her anything, Hannah made the offer out of a desire to watch her older sister experience motherhood and learn from her.
