Handmaids Tale reveals Elisabeth Moss’ huge role in new spin-off series

The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss‘s huge role in spin-off The Testaments has been unveiled.

The upcoming series serves as a continuation of the popular Hulu show, drawing inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel with the same title, which unfolds 15 years following the storyline in “The Handmaid’s Tale.

Originally, it was announced that Ann Dowd would reprise her role as Aunt Lydia in the series, and she also serves as one of the narrators in “The Testaments.” Now, Hulu has added to the excitement by confirming that Moss will join the team this time around, not just as an actor but also as an executive producer for the show.

It has also been announced that filming on the show will get underway from April 7.

In addition to Dowd, the show will feature Lucy Halliday from “Blue Jean” as Daisy, a Canadian character who serves as one of the story’s narrators, and Chase Infiniti from “Presumed Innocent” as Agnes, a woman residing in Gilead, who is another narrator.

In addition to these stars, you’ll see Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Eva Foote, Isolde Ardies, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Birva Pandya, and Kira Guloien on stage as well.

The narrative explores how the destinies of the three main characters become connected, as they delve into the mysteries surrounding Gilead and their struggle against its oppressive rule.

Actress Elisabeth Moss, known for her role as June Osborne in The Handmaid’s Tale, has a history of work off-camera. She has directed several episodes of the series itself, even taking on directing duties for some episodes in the upcoming final season.

The latest sneak peek at Season 6 hinted at upcoming events, featuring June spearheading an uprising against the repressive government of Gilead.

Next week will see the debut of fresh episodes, as they delve into the themes of hope, bravery, unity, and tenacity in the struggle for justice and liberation, as reflected in June’s journey’s conclusion.

Currently, the co-showrunner Yahlin Chang has hinted at adopting a more upbeat tone for the final stages of The Handmaid’s Tale.

“I only want to end with victory and feelings of hope and triumph and uplift,” Chang said.

I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the return of “The Handmaid’s Tale” on April 8! In the United States, you can catch each gripping episode exclusively on Hulu. For those of us across the pond in the UK, Channel 4 and Amazon Prime Video will be our go-to platforms for this captivating series.
