Halsey is re-teaming with MaXXXine director for new dark comedy series Bloodlust

As a fan who has followed Halsey’s journey from pop sensation to budding television creator, I am absolutely thrilled about her latest project, “Bloodlust.” The fact that she’s collaborating with Ti West yet again on this dark comedy series for Amazon Prime Video is music to my ears.

It seems that Halsey and Ti West enjoyed their collaboration so much while creating this year’s horror film, “MaXXXine,” that they have chosen to work together again!

As reported exclusively by Variety, the talented musician Halsey is working on a dark comedy series titled “Bloodlust” for Amazon Prime Video. In this venture, she’ll take on roles as the creator, writer, and executive producer. It’s also been announced that West will direct and produce the project in an executive capacity. However, Halsey won’t be appearing as an actor in this series.

It appears that “Bloodlust,” a project under development for some time, is now advancing further in production. Besides Halsey and Kanye West, “Bloodlust” will also be overseen by executive producers like Anthony Li, Halsey’s manager, and Mark Friedman, who has recently worked on the show “Severance.” In this capacity, Friedman will serve as the showrunner. At present, there is no specific information available regarding the plot of the series.

In the series MaXXXine, Halsey portrayed Maxine’s friend and fellow adult entertainer Tabby Martin, adding a burst of fun to the show. It would have been thrilling to watch her lead in Bloodlust, but it’s equally captivating to anticipate what she’ll contribute as a TV creator. Apart from MaXXXine, she has lent her voice to various projects such as Sing 2, American Dad, and Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?. Previously, the singer made guest appearances in A Star is Born and the short-lived Showtime series Roadies.

In the year 2023, Halsey featured in the crime-thriller movie “Americana” directed by Tony Tost, alongside Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser, Eric Dane, Simon Rex, and others. It’s planned for her to work again with Sweeney on “The Player’s Table”, a project based on Jessica Goodman’s novel “They Wish They Were Us”. This collaboration was announced in 2020 for HBO, but there have been no recent updates about it.

In 2022, West’s movie titled “MaXXXine” was the concluding chapter of the X trilogy. Starring Mia Goth in multiple roles, this film marked its third installment. Although the director has hinted at a possible fourth film, his latest statements suggest that he’s content with how “MaXXXine” wraps up and eager to explore new projects. However, he expressed a desire to collaborate with Mia Goth again in the future.
