Halo Infinite to its own tactical shooter mode called S&D Extraction later this year
It’s time for everyone to put on their tactical shooting hats! A brand-new mode called S&D Extraction is making its way into Halo Infinite, featuring locations where you can either attack or defend strategic bomb sites.
2025 brings the arrival of the latest S&D Extraction mode for Halo Infinite. This new feature seems destined to become a part of both casual and professional gaming, potentially making its way into ranked matches and official Halo Championship Series tournaments.
The information they provided is still being developed, yet we have some exciting insights about it. Now, let’s discuss the key aspects of this upcoming feature.
Everything we know about S&D Extraction in Halo Infinite
At Halo Studios, their own words reveal that S&D Extraction is a strategic shooting game style reminiscent of modes such as Call of Duty’s Search & Destroy, or objectives like those seen in VALORANT and Counter-Strike.
In this game, two teams consisting of four players each will face off on maps that are not identical in layout. Each player gets only one life per round, but they have the option to rejoin a round after being eliminated by purchasing back-in. The objective is to reach 11 wins before your opponent; the first team to win six rounds takes the victory. Teams will alternate between attacking and defending positions, and an economic system allows them to acquire better equipment throughout the game.
In Halo Infinite’s Search & Destroy mode, you’ll encounter standard A and B locations. Your objective is to place extraction devices at these sites and safeguard them until they explode or disarm them if you’re on defense. Alternatively, eliminate the opposing team before they can do the same to win a round.
In this scenario, you won’t find a bomb to transport if your teammate carrying it gets defeated. Instead, your task is to battle your way towards the bomb site where each attacker carries their own extraction device. The defenders then have one minute to disarm this device.
In every new round within Halo Infinite, the Bandit EVO serves as your initial weapon. During the start of each round, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize the game’s purchasing system for 30 seconds. This phase offers a variety of items that you might imagine in Halo Infinite. Earn credits by triumphing in rounds, eradicating adversaries, and deploying the extraction device.
