Halo Infinite Has Welcomed Back ODST’s Classic PvE Firefight Mode

In its debut, Halo Infinite has resurrected the original cooperative PvE Firefight experience from Halo 3: ODST released in 2009, along with a King of the Hill adaptation. This new feature is part of Operation: Blue Team, where you and up to three comrades assume the roles of Spartans, battling wave after wave of Covenant adversaries.

In this game, your main goal is to endure through multiple waves, rounds, and sets of enemies. A round contains five successive enemy waves. Typically, a set consists of three rounds, along with an extra wave as a bonus. The initial wave (Wave 1) is designed to be relatively easy and help you get accustomed to the gameplay. Waves 2 through 4 offer a moderate level of difficulty. However, things become increasingly challenging after that point. The battle is continuous, so keep fighting until you eventually succumb.

In every game, a team starts with a collective pool of seven lives. If you’re like me, you might use them all up quickly, which could potentially upset your fellow players because they think you’re not playing well. In critical situations, Halo Infinite offers an escape option called Firefight during the end of a round. If two or more members of the team manage to enter the ‘complete the mission’ area, the game will come to an end.

The timeless ‘Firefight’ mode has made its way into ‘Halo Infinite‘, spanning the Security Zone, House of Reckoning, Forest Firefight, Courtyard, and Alpha Site maps. This is all part of Operation: Blue Team. For further details, you can check it out here.
