Halle Berry Wows in Corset Gown at Cannes Gala with Izabel Goulart and Shanina Shaik!

At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Halle Berry dazzled alongside Izabel Goulart and Shanina Shaik during the Chopard Universe Gala Night.

The actress, aged 58, donned a stunning burgundy silk dress that showcased a corseted upper body supported by bones and a well-defined skirt.

Alongside Izabel aged 40 and Shanina at 34, they were the first to grace the red carpet, spearheading the arrival of celebrities for the jewelry brand’s special occasion.

Izabel wore a semi-sheer lace dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and figure hugging design.

Previously, the Angel for Victoria’s Secret opted for loose curls in her hairstyle and added a sparkling Chopard diamond necklace as an accessory.

Simultaneously, Shanina was stunning in a plunging black corset paired with a white skirt that had an impressive thigh-high split on one side.

2021’s Cannes Film Festival is happening amidst President Trump’s promise to impose taxes on foreign movies.

Cannes, a global gathering place for filmmakers, sales representatives, and journalists, is often referred to as the “Olympics of the silver screen.” Just like the Olympics, it culminates in an award ceremony, where the prestigious Palme d’Or is bestowed at its conclusion.

Filmmakers hail from all over the world, presenting their movies, while negotiators tirelessly work throughout the night to market completed films or production packages to different regions.

According to Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho, he is releasing his film into an environment reminiscent of the Colosseum, as he brings ‘The Secret Agent’ to Cannes – a thrilling production that takes place during Brazil’s dictatorship.

It’s essential to thoroughly prepare yourself, as the experience can be quite immersive, similar to the anticipation you feel when climbing the stairs towards a roller coaster at the Palace.

Trump stirred up surprise among Hollywood and global film circles by declaring, on May 4th, that films produced outside of the U.S. would be subject to a 100% import tax.

The White House has stated that no definitive choices have been settled yet. They’re considering various strategies, such as offering federal incentives for domestic filming projects instead of imposing tariffs. However, this declaration served as a reminder of how global conflicts can potentially disrupt even long-standing cultural establishments.

The Cannes Film Festival was initially established during the World War II era, as a response to the increasing fascism in Italy that caused the control of the Venice Film Festival to shift towards the government. As a result, an alternative film festival was created.

Since then, Cannes’ unwavering dedication to cinema has shone as a guiding light for filmmakers. Numerous directors have flocked there to establish their reputation.

This year is not any more unique than others; however, certain debutant filmmakers at Cannes have already garnered a fair amount of recognition.

Actresses Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson, and Harris Dickinson each premiered their first directorial projects within the Un Certain Regard sidebar at the Cannes Film Festival.

A number of veterans have come back to Cannes, among them Tom Cruise (from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning), Robert De Niro – honored with a Palme d´Or 49 years after Taxi Driver’s initial screening at Cannes – and Quentin Tarantino, who acknowledged the low-budget Western director George Sherman.

Meanwhile Scarlett’s directorial debut Eleanor The Great, will be unveiled on May 20.

In light of his ongoing legal dispute with ex-co-star Blake Lively, it appears that Justin Baldoni will not be present.

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed that the glamorous gala on the Croisette has garnered just as much, if not more, buzz for the stylish ensembles graced by its A-list attendees, as it has for the lineup of movies being showcased.

However, this year’s festival has introduced stricter dress codes, supposedly for the purpose of maintaining decorum.

Organizers explain that the strict policy aims to discourage the popular trend of revealing, suggestive attire – often referred to as “naked dresses” due to their tendency to show far more than they cover – on the red carpet.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that according to Cannes Festival regulations, public nudity is not permitted on the red carpet or any other festival locale.

At the festival, those who represent the welcome teams will need to enforce a rule that only people following these guidelines will be allowed on the red carpet.

The latest festival attendees’ guide contains unexpected updates on the policies – published along with guidelines for appropriate crowd conduct.

As a dedicated follower, I’m excited to let you know that I’ll be making my way to the prestigious Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière over the course of a jam-packed two-week period. This remarkable venue will be playing host to some of the most high-profile film screenings that Cannes has to offer.

It’s clear that the famous location has shifted towards a dress code leaning more towards conservatism, often preferring formal attire such as suits, tuxedos, and long evening gowns instead of eye-catching outfits that make headlines.

In addition to classic little black dresses, cocktail dresses, pantsuits, formal blouses, and sophisticated sandals (either with a heel or flat), these items will also be acceptable.

It’s uncertain whether the cautious French TV broadcasters, concerned about showing nudity, influenced the decision to enforce a stricter policy for the first time.

Prominent film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival are broadcasted on television in France by France Télévisions.

Lately, the yearly event has been drawing in more models and social media influencers than actors and movie creators, leading to a rise in bold, potentially revealing red carpet fashion choices.

Last year, I had the opportunity to attend a screening of Tre Piani (Three Floors), and American supermodel Bella Hadid made quite an impression. She donned a deep-necked black dress that showcased her elegant cleavage.

Three years on, she repeated a daring move, leaving attendees of the 2024 gala astonished when she showed up at the premiere of “The Apprentice” biopic, Donald Trump, without a bra under a semi-transparent, chocolate-hued evening gown.
