Halle Berry reveals if she would ever play Catwoman again after 2004 movie bombed at the box office

As someone who has followed Halle Berry’s career for decades, I must say that her resilience and versatility never cease to amaze me. From playing Catwoman in 2004, which faced criticism but is now beloved by many younger audiences, to advocating for women’s health legislation about menopause, she continues to break barriers and challenge the norms of Hollywood.

On Thursday, Halle Berry, who recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of her movie “Catwoman” – a box office disappointment, was asked if she would consider reprising the role of the superheroine in the future.

During her recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actress mentioned that it was only a few weeks back when they commemorated the anniversary of the 2004 Catwoman film.

Jimmy, 49, showed photos Halle posted on social media of herself topless while holding two cats.

Halle said, “I’d like to clarify, it so happens that as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, I found myself with four small, black cats in my garden. They seem to be stray kittens who have taken refuge in my shrubbery.”

Jimmy inquired from Halle about her recollections regarding the production of the movie where she played Catwoman, a project helmed by the French director known as Pitof.

‘It got panned,’ Halle said laughing while sharing the expletive-laden reviews of critics.

Halle expressed her joy that the children have discovered something on the internet and enjoy it. She added that it feels validating since they’re now calling it ‘cool’. She also seemed puzzled about why there were issues with it in the first place, saying she feels like a trendsetter now.

‘Would you ever play Catwoman again? Would you reprise the role?,’ Jimmy asked.

‘Maybe, if I could direct it,’ Halle answered.

On her 58th birthday, which fell on a Wednesday, Halle advocated for women’s health policies related to menopause.

“Halle remarked, ‘It was fantastic! There’s no other location I’d rather have been on my birthday than advocating for women. It might sound trite, but since I don’t usually celebrate my birthday, it was a chance to do something truly meaningful, which made me very joyful.'”

Halle mentioned that she had recently come back from West Virginia, where she was lobbying alongside Republican Senator Shelley Moore Capito from West Virginia.

‘Talking about a menopause bill that I’m working to get passed,’ Halle said.

Halle has been collaborating with a U.S. Senator as they push for increased investigation and dialogue about menopause.

‘Good for you on your birthday,’ Jimmy said.

Jimmy displayed a photo featuring Halle holding the Olympic torch, and inquired about her experience of bearing the Olympic flame.

Halle remarked, “I found that enjoyable!” She had anticipated it would be quite weighty, but she discovered it’s actually not so heavy.

Halle said she dreamed when she was younger of being a gymnast.

‘I was supposed to be Simone Biles, but she beat me to it,’ Halle said.

On the NBC chat show, Halle was there to publicize her upcoming film, titled “The Union,” where she co-stars with Mark Wahlberg. This movie will make its debut on Netflix this coming Friday.

‘I always wanted to do mine,’ Halle said. ‘Mark didn’t always want to do his.’

Halle playfully pointed out that she was older than Mark and still performing daring feats, implying he’d never catch up. In other words, she meant he’d always be behind.

Jimmy then played a clip from the movie of Halle stabbing Mark in the neck with a needle.

In addition, Halle participated in an activity called “Egg Surprise” with Jimmy where they both cracked open eggs onto their faces without knowing if the eggs were hard-cooked or raw. When Halle cracked her first egg, to her surprise, it was hard-boiled and she went ahead and smacked it against her face.

‘I’m not going to mess up my hair,’ Halle said.

Jimmy grabbed an egg, unknowingly hitting it on his head, only to discover it was raw and ended up covered in its contents as it sprayed across his face.

Next, Halle moved on and grabbed an egg. She tapped it against her face, and just like that, the uncooked egg broke open and ran down onto her face.

Jimmy’s second egg was hard boiled.

In the end, Halle was the one to go last and collect her last egg. She expressed, “I hope this doesn’t happen again.” Sadly, it seemed destined to repeat itself, for upon striking the egg against her own face, it burst open like before.

‘I’m so sorry,’ Jimmy said.
