Halle Berry reacts to ex-husband Eric Benét’s claims of being a sex addict
As a dedicated follower of Hollywood’s rollercoaster relationships, I find Halle Berry‘s life experiences to be a fascinating study in resilience and survival. The way she navigates through her personal life, while maintaining a successful career, is truly inspiring.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but echo Halle Berry’s words that seem to hint at a discrepancy with her ex, Eric Benét, regarding his supposed claims of a sex addiction. In my eyes, I just can’t fathom a former partner’s assertions on such matters.
It’s been reported since 2002, though the actress didn’t mention him directly, that Benét was admitted to rehab for dealing with a sex addiction issue.
In the latest episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast on Monday, she expressed skepticism about her second spouse’s claimed sex addiction by stating that she doesn’t genuinely accept it.
She mentioned an anonymous former spouse who claimed to be a sex addict, but frankly, I find that hard to swallow.
In the same podcast, the actress who played Catwoman likewise discussed the speculations about a romantic encounter between her and her Monster’s Ball costar, Billy Bob Thornton.
In 2001, she got married to Benét following a two-year courtship. However, they separated in 2003, and their divorce was completed in 2005.
Berry’s first marriage was to David Justice from 1993 to 1997.
Her third marriage was to Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016.
In the past, she disclosed that they had been experiencing troubles in their marriage for a while, as expressed in her statement to Entertainment Weekly.

During that period, there were many who believed that Benét may have been untrue to Berry on multiple occasions due to rumors about his supposedly strong sexual compulsions.
After their separation, he publicly refuted rumors about his being a compulsive sexual behavior individual during an appearance on ABC News.
In July 2004, he clarified to the media that he is not a sex addict. Instead, he described himself as an individual who, due to a sequence of emotional turmoil, difficulties, and trials, made incredibly foolish and agonizing mistakes.
After 2005, Berry was in a relationship with model Gabriel Aubry until 2010. Together they have a daughter named Nahla who is currently 16 years old.
After their split, the co-parents went through a long legal battle over custody of their daughter.
Four years following their separation, a court in Los Angeles decided that Berry should provide Aubry with $16,000 per month in child support payments.
Afterward, she found herself romantically involved with the French actor, Olivier Martinez. They tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held in July 2013.
That same year, Berry welcomed her son Maceo, now 10, with him.
Three years later, the couple called it quits and they finalized their divorce in 2016.
More recently, in August, Berry attempted to obtain full legal custody of Maceo due to her claim that Martinez is unwilling to co-parent in a child-focused manner.
Her latest court filing comes just months after they agreed to ‘co-parenting therapy’ with a coach.
In legal papers, she stated that she spent more than $200,000 on lawyer costs in the custody battle over their son, with $80,000 specifically being used to cover Martinez’s voluntary legal expenditures.
