As a lifestyle expert, I have to say Halle Berry’s engagement ring is stunning – and totally unique! She gave fans a really good look at it last night, and honestly, it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. It’s definitely a departure from traditional engagement ring styles, and I’m loving how bold and individual it is.
The 59-year-old Oscar winner and producer attended a screening and Q&A for Amazon MGM’s Crime 101 at The Grove in Los Angeles. She showed off the striking, vintage-inspired ring from her partner of many years, Van Hunt, 55.
Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia of Abelini told The Daily Mail that Halle’s ring is a unique and striking design. Instead of a classic single-stone ring, it features a bold, sculptural shape with strong geometric lines.
The ring in the image has a striking, contemporary design. It features a large, square or rectangular diamond centerpiece, framed by a halo of smaller diamonds, all set in yellow gold. The overall look is luxurious yet feels uniquely personal and has a strong, architectural quality.
Berry’s engagement ring stood out from typical celebrity rings with its unique design, and it cost a considerable amount of money.
Considering the ring’s size, the quality of the gemstones, and the intricate design of its setting, I estimate its value to be between $120,000 and $200,000,” Rakholia states.
As a lifestyle expert, I often get asked about ring costs, and here’s a breakdown of what contributes to a higher price point. This estimate assumes a beautiful center diamond between 2 and 3 carats. It also includes the cost of smaller accent diamonds that add sparkle and overall carat weight, plus the skilled labor needed to create a truly unique, custom design – something beyond a standard, off-the-rack setting. It’s about quality and artistry!
According to Rakholia, the value goes far beyond the diamonds themselves.
For me, it’s not just about the diamonds in this ring, it’s the incredible design that really sets it apart. These custom cluster engagement rings, especially ones made this well, are worth the investment because of the amazing skill it takes to set all those stones together so perfectly and safely. Plus, I’m loving the yellow gold – it feels like warmer metals are really coming back into style with luxury jewelry, and it makes this piece even more special.
He explained that what really sets this ring apart is its focus on individual style rather than following typical designs. It’s meant to be a unique expression of personality, which is what more and more of his clients are looking for. He believes the ring beautifully combines artistic design, luxurious materials, and deep personal meaning – everything a perfect engagement ring should offer.
Just days after announcing her engagement on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon – finally confirming rumors that had been circulating – Berry is set to make her professional boxing debut.
Berry explained that there’s a misunderstanding about a proposal. She didn’t reject him – they simply haven’t set a wedding date yet.
After a short moment, she happily confirmed, ‘Yes, I told him I’d marry him! He did give me a ring, after all.’
Calling it ‘little’ doesn’t quite capture how impressive this bold, square-shaped piece actually is.
Berry was referring to a recent interview with The Cut, in which she shared that her fiancé proposed to her last June.
She confessed she didn’t agree right away, but eventually made an exception because of health concerns, as spouses have legal rights that would allow access if needed.
They were introduced by his brother in April 2020, right when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its worst. At first, they only talked through texts and phone calls, and didn’t meet face-to-face for another four months.
For years, the public has closely followed Halle Berry’s relationships. She’s now openly discussed how all the attention led her to become more private about her personal life.
She remembers that after her third divorce, people began to gossip, questioning her stability and ability to maintain a relationship. This led her to avoid interviews for about ten years, as she grew weary of constantly being asked about the same topic.
She explained that people often pitied her love life, saying she was always unlucky in love. But she always countered that she wasn’t interested in staying with someone just for the sake of being in a relationship, and that she’s currently in the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of her life.
The engagement will mark Berry’s fourth walk down the aisle.
She and baseball player David Justice divorced in 1997, ending their three-year marriage.
Her second marriage to singer Eric Benét ended in 2005 after two years.
She later married actor Olivier Martinez, with whom she shares 12-year-old son Maceo.
The pair divorced after two years, and Berry reportedly pays $8,000 per month in child support.
She and her ex-partner, Gabriel Aubry, share a daughter, Nahla, who is almost 18. They had a lengthy legal dispute over her custody.
Berry realized, after looking back on her relationships, that she was repeatedly drawn to partners who reflected her unresolved childhood issues. She addressed these patterns through intense emotional healing.
I began to see that I was only attracting people who mirrored my own pain – individuals who, like me, were struggling with unresolved childhood issues. I needed to confront my own past trauma and let go of long-held secrets, which led to many tearful nights.
Halle Berry is currently promoting her new action thriller, ‘Crime 101,’ directed by Bart Layton. The film will be released in U.S. theaters on February 13th.
Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Nick Nolte, and Jennifer Jason Leigh also appear in the film.
She also has several exciting projects on the way, including the Apple TV+ political thriller The President Is Missing, the action comedy Bad Cop, Bad Cop directed by Kay Cannon, the drama Fleur by Ellie Foumbi, and Red Card, a trafficking thriller set in Africa directed by Joel Souza.
As someone who really believes in empowering women through all life stages, I’ve been following Amanda Seyfried’s work with The Menopause Care Equity Act in California. It’s fantastic to see her using her platform to advocate for something so important – basically, making sure insurance companies cover the evaluations and treatments women need during menopause. It’s a huge step towards better healthcare access for all of us!
