Berry also claimed that studios were too scared to support a James Bond spin-off based on Jinx. 

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson advocated for the character to have her own film, but MGM hesitated due to an estimated $80 million cost. This choice was described as ‘disappointing’ by Halle in an interview on Variety’s cover.

In simpler terms, the project was considered innovative for its era because investing such a substantial amount in a black female action hero was uncommon at the time. People had doubts about its worth, which is why it was in that uncertain position back then.

The actress has a 17-year-old daughter named Nahla with her former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and an 11-year-old son called Maceo from her marriage to Olivier Martinez, which lasted from 2013 until 2016.
