Hairy Bikers star Si King says he is struggling after Dave Myers death

As a gamer who has lost a few virtual friends to glitches and bugs over the years, I can relate to Si King’s struggle after Dave Myers’ passing. Losing a long-time partner, whether it’s in real life or in the pixelated world, leaves a void that time doesn’t always fill.

Hairy Bikers star Si King has admitted that he is struggling after Dave Myers‘ death.

In February this year, Dave, who was 66 years old, tragically lost his life due to cancer, a battle he’d been fighting since 2022.

Currently, approximately six months after his passing, Si penned an article for The Sunday Times, expressing that life is challenging for him at present.

“I’ll be honest with you, the past few months have been a struggle,” he explained.

Occasionally, the urge arose within me to hop onto my bicycle and pedal towards the setting sun without informing anyone about my destination. The idea was simply to escape and not return.

At other moments, I found myself filled with anger. Anger towards that relentless illness, anger at God, and any other thoughts that crossed my mind. Folks would often inquire about my future plans.

“I plan to ponder over the life I shared with my best friend and consider my next steps – this is something Dave would have encouraged. Let’s move forward, not get stuck in the past.

When Si shared the heartbreaking information about his friend’s demise, he disclosed that Dave passed away serenely in his own home, surrounded by his beloved wife Lili, his family, Si, and companion friend David.

After Dave passed away, the remaining episodes of “The Hairy Bikers Go West” that he had filmed were aired. In June, a memorial bike ride with thousands of participants was held.
