HAIM pose for their new album cover in a VERY unlikely location while sporting a WHSmith carrier bag – and fans are going wild

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over the unexpected reveal of HAIM’s new album cover! Guess where they chose to strike a pose? None other than a quintessential UK locale that has them embodying the perfect blend of American charm and British flair.

Known as Haim, a Grammy-nominated musical group consisting of sisters Alana (33), Danielle (36), and Este (39), have earned international acclaim due to their exceptional abilities in pop-rock composition and playing instruments.

Instead, the cover art for their forthcoming single from the album “I Quit”, which releases this coming Friday, portrays a place that feels more familiar to fans based in the UK.

I’m absolutely smitten! The artwork for the song “Take Me Back” showcases a captivating shot of my beloved American band, posing on Portland Street in the vibrant city of Manchester. Guess who you can spot in the scene? None other than the adorable youngest sister Alana, holding a WHSmith bag close to her heart!

On June 20th, the long-awaited studio album from HAIM will officially drop, marking their first release in five years. Already excited fans are on the brink, but the unpredictable photoshoot has pushed them past the edge with anticipation.

One user questioned on X: ‘This is Manchester. Why are HAIM near Piccadilly Gardens?’

Another joked: ‘The new HAIM single cover taken in Manchester, like girls, why didn’t we hang?’

A comment I came across evoked a longing for Vegan Shack, a favorite eatery in Manchester. It brought back memories of Portland Street in Manchester.

This is most certainly not the first time Manchester has featured on notable music artwork.

The famous house from the West Didsbury neighborhood of Manchester, which graced the cover of Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994, has become a legend.

Or simply:
The iconic cover of Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe (1994) showcases a now-legendary house from West Didsbury, Manchester.

Notably, Salford Lads Club, a gathering place for a youth group, is now a popular destination for admirers of The Smiths. This historic site was prominently featured on the cover of their 1986 album, “The Queen Is Dead.

However, the unexpected occurred when fans noticed that a place they recognized appeared in Haim’s album artwork. One fan even expressed bewilderment on X by saying, “Haim single cover in Manchester with Alana carrying a WHSmith bag…

One individual was astonished, exclaiming about the area close to Manchester’s City Centre’s Piccadilly Gardens: “What on earth were Haim performing in Manchester?

Another individual shared a photograph that matches the location where the band photo was taken, commenting: “Indeed, this is Portland Street, Manchester.

‘Not the first place I’d pick for a single cover but pop off.’

As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but notice the striking similarity between the album art and that infamous paparazzi shot of the captivating duo, Keira Knightley and Jamie Dornan, snapped back in 2004. It’s like the artist had a time machine to capture the essence of that moment!

The art for HAIM’s upcoming single, ‘Take Me Back’, draws inspiration from a 2004 photograph featuring Keira Knightley and Jamie Dornan. It will be released tomorrow, so make sure you don’t miss it!

The image on the cover features the trio strolling down the street, with their youngest siblings, Danielle and Alana, styled similarly to the British fashion of the 2000s.

The level of precision is remarkable, as Danielle carefully matches the angle of her white scarf slung over her shoulders to that seen on Keira in the picture.

The songs that followed the initial three singles they released from their upcoming album this year were similarly inspired by famous paparazzi photos.

On the cover of the recent release “Down To Be Wrong”, we find an image depicting actors Jared Leto and Scarlett Johansson locked in a kiss, yet simultaneously attempting to glance at their mobile flip phones.

For the very first time in their promotional efforts for this album, the design of Take Me Back’s cover draws distinctly from British influences.

For fans of HAIM who are conversant with Manchester, some popular landmarks such as Don Tacos restaurant and the offices at One Piccadilly Gardens can be spotted in the cover image, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Terrence O’Connor, the director of the photoshoot, shared his thoughts on X regarding the creative process behind producing the album artwork.

The photographer, famously associated with British pop star Charli XCX, commented: “Can we rewind to when you and I were purchasing the Manchester Victoria’s Secret store and capturing images just a couple of hours afterwards? Ha-ha!

I created the artwork for ‘Take Me Back’ by HAIM. We styled it in a disorganized manner, just like we usually do in the mornings. This piece is an ideal fit for your longing for the past, which will be released this Friday!

After their successful performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool last weekend, Haim is set to release a new single.

As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly anticipating my trip back to Manchester later this year, where I’ll be attending an immense concert at the Co-Op Live stadium in October, during their tour.

Take Me Back will be available to stream this Friday, with I Quit set for release on June 20.
