Four years ago, Hailey Bieber experienced a mini-stroke followed by heart surgery, events that significantly changed her life.
On the latest episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, 29-year-old Rhode founder Hailey Bieber admitted the experience continues to make her anxious.
It’s also made her more vigilant about staying on top of her health.
I became much more conscious of my body and more anxious about keeping everything under control after what happened,” Bieber explained. “I’ve always been really interested in and dedicated to my health, though.
‘I just am so fascinated with the body and medicine and doctors, and I love it.’
In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a small stroke, medically known as a transient ischemic attack (TIA), which can often signal a higher risk of a more serious stroke. Doctors discovered a hole in her heart and performed a procedure to close it.
‘A couple of years ago, I had a crazy medical situation. I had a mini stroke,’ she recalled.
I later discovered I had a heart problem from birth and needed surgery to fix it. It sounds strange, but the doctors accessed my heart through my groin, and I was able to go home the same day.
After a health scare and successful recovery, Hailey Bieber, a mother to 17-month-old Jack Blues with her husband Justin, 31, felt inspired to launch her makeup line, Rhode.
In 2022, the singer of “Better Man” went through a frightening health issue: he developed partial facial paralysis and some hearing loss caused by Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
In a video posted to Instagram that June, Justin told his fans that things would eventually return to normal, but he wasn’t sure how long that would take.
I’m hoping things will be alright. I’m trusting in God and believing there’s a purpose to all of this, even though I don’t understand it yet. For now, I’m going to focus on getting some rest.
I’m really hoping these facial exercises will work; he seems confident they’ll restore his face to how it used to be, and honestly, I believe him too. He keeps saying it will get back to normal, and that gives me a lot of hope.
A health issue caused Justin Bieber to end his tour so he could recover. By 2024, he had regained movement in his face.
During the podcast, Justin’s wife shared a surprising glimpse into their son Jack Blue’s progress. This was unusual, as the Biebers have always kept their son’s life very private since he was born in August 2024.
She shared some exciting news: the little boy is beginning to talk! According to Bieber, he’s especially enthusiastic about basketball and mentions it constantly.
I woke him up from his nap today, and the first thing he said was ‘basketball!’ It was so random and hilarious.
She mentioned wanting another child, saying she ‘definitely wants one more,’ but emphasized she isn’t planning on having one soon.
