Hailey Bieber applauds Selena Gomez and the Emilia Pérez cast after Golden Globe wins

Hailey Bieber expressed her congratulations to Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber’s former girlfriend, when they won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (as part of the Emilia Perez cast).

28-year-old model showed appreciation for a recent Instagram post by fashion designer Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent, regarding the movie’s awards that evening, putting to rest longstanding speculation about conflicts between them.

He expressed his immense pride and joy today, knowing that he created the finest movie of the year under the banner of Saint Laurent Production. Kudos to all those who contributed towards Emilia Perez, as it won 4 Golden Globes!

On Sunday night at the Golden Globes, Emilia Perez took home a total of four awards. She had received more nominations than any other contender before the start of the 82nd ceremony.

1. In the Spanish-speaking version of a French musical, it was awarded Best Film, Best Female Supporting Actor (Zoe Saldaña), an Original Song, and it was not produced in the English language.

2. A French musical made in Spanish won accolades for Best Film, Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña), an original song, and it was a non-English production.

3. The Spanish-language adaptation of a French musical took home awards for Best Film, Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña), an original song, and it was produced in a language other than English.

Hailey has previously demonstrated her support for her husband’s former partner, who is 32 years old. Just last month, she expressed this support by liking a post about the latter’s engagement to Benny Blanco, who is 36 years of age.

The genre-blending crime musical titled “Emilia Perez,” about a Mexican cartel chief who transforms through gender reassignment surgery, has become an unexpected hit on Netflix, airing it since November.

For months now, I’ve been absolutely captivated by this movie that’s been amassing accolades left and right! It all started with its grand debut at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it not only scooped up the Jury Prize but also made history by bestowing the inaugural Best Actress Award to an ensemble.

Currently, the movie featuring Karla Sofía Gascón, Saldana, and Gomez in a predominantly female cast is progressing in its quest for an Oscar. Last week, it topped the Academy Awards shortlists, securing six nominations across categories such as International Feature, Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound, Original Score, and Original Song for two of its songs.

Last month Hailey also showed support for Selena.

In a recent post, the creator of Rhode Beauty showed approval by liking a picture that showcased the ring worn by the actor from Only Murders in the Building, along with a snapshot of Benny tenderly holding her and Selena laughing, covering her mouth with her left hand.

From 2010 to 2018, Selena and Justin had an on-again, off-again relationship, and over the years, whispers have circulated about a potential rift between Selena and Hailey.

For quite some time now, there have been whispers of a dispute between them. This tension appears to have escalated when it seemed like they were taking subtle digs at each other online – all happening around the time of Hailey’s marriage to Justin Bieber, who is well-known as Selena Gomez’s former partner.

Back in September 2018, I was delighted to witness the marriage of Justin, a public figure I’ve long admired, and Hailey – an event that took place six short months following his permanent separation from Selena.

In June of 2023, during an interview with Emily Chang on Bloomberg’s The Circuit, Hailey discussed and resolved her past issues with Selena, all while promoting her Rhode skincare brand.

She thought the dispute originated from the fictional portrayals of celebrities’ lives that people create in their minds, more precisely, the idealized versions they wish were true.

‘There’s narratives that exist for me that really hurt my feelings and make me really upset.’

When Chang touched upon the ongoing feud between Bieber and another well-known figure, the brunette model was eager to voice her opinion.

‘I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez,’ she explained.

This isn’t merely a disagreement between two women; it’s about the abhorrent, appalling bigotry that can stem from false, distorted stories, which can prove harmful in many ways.

Hailey went on saying, “I dislike the concept of ‘team this person’ versus ‘team another person’. I prefer uniting individuals, and I believe that instance served as a significant demonstration that unity is achievable without fostering such divisiveness.

Chang referred to it as an ‘annoying, repetitive storyline’ since it involved two women competing for the affection of a single man.

Bieber retorted: ‘It’s all due to this man! It’s terrible! I despise it! I’ve loathed it from the start, and it stems from feeling misinterpreted.’

Gomez started dating Blanco back in June 2023, but it wasn’t until December of the same year that she publicly acknowledged their relationship.

During that period, she utilized Instagram to inform her followers about her six-month long secret relationship with the hitmaker, stating he was her “complete everything.

For more than a decade prior to their romance, Gomez and Blanco had a close friendship and collaborated on music projects.

As a devoted fan, I’ve been instrumental in creating three of the artist’s most renowned hits – the 2021 smash I Can’t Get Enough and the 2015 chart-topper, Same Old Love.

Last month, Blanco revealed that it was Gomez who made the first move on Kai Cenat’s Twitch stream.

He proposed a date. It was astonishing, utterly astonishing. To my surprise, she casually suggested, “Fancy grabbing a meal together?” and I agreed, not expecting it at all.

White asserted that he wasn’t feeling ‘anxious’ as he was well-acquainted with Gomez both personally and professionally.

He said to Cenat, “I wasn’t feeling nervous because we’ve been friends for a decade or more – around 10 to 15 years.

Blanco mentioned they had some beverages, but it wasn’t until later that he understood his outing with the founder of Rare Beauty was actually a date.

He confessed, “I didn’t even notice it was a date. She then mentioned, ‘If I’d known this was a date, I would have dressed differently.’ It took me by surprise when she said that. I had absolutely no clue we were on a date.

She departed ahead of time since she needed to go someplace for a video shoot the following day. We reunited about two days afterwards, and at that point, I thought, “Wow, it seems like she might have feelings for me.” Then, quite spontaneously, I leaned in and kissed her, and from thereon, our story unfolded.
