Gypsy-Rose Blanchard finally reveals father of baby after paternity test

As I delve into the extraordinary life of Gypsy Blanchard, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of empathy for this remarkable woman. Her journey from being a victim of Munchausen-by-proxy to finding love and then heartbreak is nothing short of astonishing.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has at last disclosed the identity of her child’s father following an agreement with her estranged spouse, Ryan Anderson, for a paternity test.

33-year-old Blanchard happily revealed in July that she’s pregnant with her partner, Ken Urker (aged 31). In August, they disclosed that they were anticipating the arrival of their little girl.

Since Blanchard is legally married, Anderson needed a DNA test to confirm the baby’s paternity to avoid the possibility that he, instead of Urkel, might be named as the father on the birth certificate according to an obscure Louisiana law.

In August, Anderson mentioned his intention to take the test, expressing it as: ‘I find myself with no other option,’ followed by: ‘I deeply dislike finding myself in such a predicament.’

After undergoing a DNA test, it’s now confirmed by Blanchard on Instagram that Urker is indeed the biological father of her child, as announced this past Tuesday.

She wrote: ‘There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby and while we’ve known for sure from the beginning, I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest. Here are the results showing Ken is the father.’

Blanchard expressed: ‘Ken will make a fantastic father, and we’re thrilled to bring our little girl into our family.’

The message she sent included a picture of the test results, showing that according to DNA proof, there was over a 99.9% likelihood that Urker was indeed the father.

According to Louisiana law, if there is no legal declaration otherwise, Anderson could have been considered the baby’s presumed father. However, since Urker took the paternity test, he can now officially be acknowledged as the baby’s father on the birth certificate.

According to this law, if a woman is married or was married within the past 300 days and has a child, her husband (or ex-husband) will be considered the legal father of the child, unless it’s proven otherwise that someone else is the biological father.

On his TikTok live broadcast on August 10, Anderson announced that he would be taking a paternity test to finally resolve the issue.

The social media statement from him was made a bit later, following the disclosure by Blanchard and Urker about the gender of their newborn child on the same day.

In a social media post, Anderson expressed that they are obligated to undergo a DNA test, and they dislike finding themselves in such circumstances.

Anderson claimed that he needed to undergo a DNA test for legal purposes, and prior to receiving the conclusive results, he expressed his personal viewpoint.

He mentioned that the sequence of events seems to not be his, although he’s unsure. A DNA test will determine if it’s true or not. He added that there are instances where even crazier things happen, and he’s still uncertain about everything. He shared his thoughts and beliefs on the matter.

On July 9th, it was announced that Blanchard is planning to welcome a new addition to her family in early 2025, as she and her current partner, Urker, are expecting a baby together.

This would put the date of conception to be around April.

Blanchard, formerly known as Gypsy-Rose Alcida, filed for divorce from Anderson just a few days after they made their separation public, which happened on April 8th.

In late June 2022, Anderson and Blanchard got a marriage license in Chillicothe, Missouri, even though she was then imprisoned, according to Springfield News-Leader.

And then, less a month later, they decided to tie-the-knot in a small prison ceremony without any guests.

Approximately three months following Blanchard’s release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, which occurred in March 2024, the couple decided to separate.

At one point, she posted on Facebook about a difficult situation: her separation from her husband, which led her to move in with her parents. She expressed that she has the backing of her family and friends during this challenging period. She’s working on listening to her heart and currently needs time to discover… herself.

Immediately following my disclosure about uncovering my identity, I was seen spending time with Urker, my former betrothed.

Approximately four months down the line, they (she and Urker) would disclose on July 9 that they are having their first child together.

Blanchard gained notoriety following her conviction for the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in Springfield, Missouri.

Her demise occurred following what Blanchard referred to as a ‘long-term ordeal of bodily, psychological, and medical mistreatment.’ This eventually led to her receiving a sentence of ten years in prison.

She was paroled at the end of December 2023 after serving eight years behind bars.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances of Blanchard’s childhood, such as her mother making her fake being disabled and dying, she became well-known in the media for having survived a case of factitious disorder imposed on another (Munchausen syndrome by proxy).

Essentially, this refers to a situation where a caregiver or partner falsely portrays another individual, often a child, as having mental health issues or physical ailments that they do not actually possess.

In simpler terms, when someone falsely imposes a mental condition (Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another, or FDIA) on another person, it could lead to severe harm or even death for the affected individual.

The behavior might be motivated by the caregiver or partner seeking sympathy or attention.

Despite all the back and forth legal wrangling, Anderson said, ‘I’m always going to have love for [her],’ in one of his latest TikTok live posts.

Later on, he attempted to calm down the harsh words directed towards his estranged wife, by stating, “If anyone is going to criticize her, it should be me. Why should others do it if I’m not?
