Gwyneth Paltrow shares a sweet moment with son Moses Martin, 18, ahead of daughter Apple stealing the show as she dazzled at her Debutante Ball in Paris
As a seasoned observer of societal events and an admirer of grace and poise, I find myself both captivated and slightly amused by the life of young Apple Martin. The grandeur of her debut at Le Bal de la Rose, a spectacle that has long been a rite of passage for European aristocracy and A-list families alike, is truly breathtaking.
Gwyneth Paltrow shared a sweet moment with son Moses, 18, ahead of her daughter Apple stealing the show at her Debutant Ball in Paris over the weekend.
The child of renowned celebrity Chris Martin, who is also the lead singer of Coldplay, recently entered high society at the Le Bal des Débutantes held at Shangri-La. She captivated everyone in a stunning Valentino Haute Couture dress and interacted with potential suitor Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck.
Although everyone was focusing on her daughter at the lavish gathering, Gwyneth, aged 52, made sure to spend some quality moments with her son as well. She attended the Fondation Louis Vuitton art gallery in Paris alongside him and his mother Blythe Danner.
Gwyneth shared a delightful photo of the trio on Instagram, nestled within a collection of pictures. The family appeared to be in high spirits, enjoying an enriching day filled with cultural experiences together.
Concurrently, during their journey, Chris, Moses’ father at the age of 47, was spotted enjoying some quality time with his son. They could be seen seated together on a park bench in one photograph.
In a touching moment, the creator of yellow gently patted Moses’ head while gazing out at the verdant landscape side by side.
On the weekend’s later days, the entire family donned their best attire to gracefully attend Apple’s Debutante Ball, sponsored by Apple. There, she had an enjoyable dance with her celebrated father.
In the year 2006, two years following the birth of their eldest child, Gwyneth and Chris – a couple who chose to separate in 2014 – welcomed their son, Moses, into their family.
At the ball, Apple appeared splendid, being spun by Chris Martin of Coldplay – who embodied the role of a loving dad perfectly, as he affectionately hugged and kissed her cheek.
Gwyneth, adorned in a delicate tulle dress featuring polka dots, looked on with pride before giving Apple a warm embrace.
On that particular evening, Apple found herself sought after, accompanied by Count Leo, a gentleman hailing from the illustrious Austro-Hungarian House of Henckel von Donnersmarck, as they twirled across the dance floor together.
In keeping with custom, debutantes are usually accompanied by a ‘cavalier’, which are often young gentlemen hailing from similar prestigious families, for their impressive entrance at the dance.
Leo is born to movie director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Christiane Asschenfeldt, who serves as the initial International Executive Director of Creative Commons.
He hails from a distinguished Austro-German family with significant lineage, playing crucial roles during the 2nd Industrial Revolution. They were pioneers in technological advancements such as developing mild steel puddling factories, three-high rolling mills, and soda-pulping processes within Germany.
Beyond sharing ties with the Apple family, not much is publicly disclosed about my beloved’s enigmatic companion, who has only one Instagram post showcasing a delightful collection of images tagged ‘Paris and Rome’, hinting at a journey through time in charming Marie Antoinette-inspired abodes.
Last year, Leo’s sister Countess Lara Cosima made her debut at the prestigious event.
In my latest outfit exploration, I found myself captivated by an exquisite dress adorned with six layers of shimmering silk plissé chiffon. The design elegantly accentuated my waistline with a sleek black silk bow, adding just the right touch of sophistication to the ensemble.
The dress, designed by Valentino’s Alessandro Michele, took 750 hours of hard work to complete.
The look was finished with a pair of strappy Valentino sandals.
Apple’s sibling, Moses, along with their father, were said to have donned tailored tuxedos, designed specifically for them by Michele.
At the gathering, several attendees were surprised when Apple drew attention away from another girl during a photo op, as footage surfaced showing her grabbing the limelight from her.
A second debutante was captured on camera while posing, then Apple unexpectedly emerged and joined the scene, sauntering into the picture.
Posing with her hands on her hips, Apple edged her way into the frame – forcing the other girl out.
The newcomer could only watch with an embarrassed chuckle as Apple continued to sulk and strike poses for numerous photographs.
In the end, she completed what she was doing and moved aside, unintentionally blocking another young lady who was next to take a photo.
On social media, there was widespread disapproval following the spread of a video, initially published by Paris Match in France, across TikTok.
On the other hand, not all people were concerned, and a few even speculated that Martin and the other debutante may have previously known one another.
Following custom, every young woman at the event held at Hotel Shangri-La in Paris will have a companion – a young gentleman referred to as a “chevalier” – accompanying them at Le Bal.
Notable guests at this event included members of European royalty along with daughters of famous Hollywood stars. For instance, Ava Philippe, the 25-year-old daughter of Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, was there in 2017. The actress Lily Collins, who plays Emily in Paris, made her debut back in 2007.
