Gwen Stefani gives fans rare insight into her personal life and motherhood: 'It's not what you think it will be like'

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Gwen Stefani, I find her life journey to be nothing short of inspiring. At 55, she continues to break barriers and defy expectations, balancing motherhood and a successful career with grace and humility. Her candid insights into the profound impact of motherhood on her life resonate deeply, as I too have experienced the joys, sacrifices, and anxieties that come with raising children.

Gwen Stefani has opened up in a revealing new interview about motherhood and her iconic career.

The well-known 55-year-old pop star, who is a mother to Kingston (age 18), Zuma (age 16), and Apollo (age 10) with her former partner Gavin Rossdale, discussed the deep influence that being a parent has had on her personal life.

She shared with Stellar Magazine this week that being a parent isn’t at all like what one imagines as a young girl when dreaming of motherhood and saying, “I’ll be a mom!” – it goes much deeper.

“My joy mirrors theirs. Ensuring their well-being, happiness, and love is a form of sanity for me.

She admitted the responsibility of being a parent is ‘bigger than you could ever imagine’ and she feels so much pride through her children.

She went on to say, “There’s no shortage of benefits that accompany the inevitable hardships, such as tension, concern, and strain.

Moreover, during the discussion, Gwen openly shared insights regarding the impending 30th anniversary of Tragic Kingdom, the groundbreaking album which propelled No Doubt, the group she led for many years, to prominence in the limelight.

She admitted she was still finding her identity when Tragic Kingdom was released.

I can hardly believe it myself, but here I am, utterly astounded by the very existence of that record. The wait was agonizingly long, yet it finally saw the light of day! To think that such a masterpiece would find its way into the world, all while someone like me, utterly clueless about myself and my path, was involved… It’s almost surreal to consider that those songs I helped bring forth continue to resonate, be played, listened to, and discussed. Simply amazing!

‘It’s truly a testament to God’s work and I’m just honoured that God chose to give me those songs.’

In 2004, during their break as a group, Gwen started her own pop music journey, culminating in the release of her first studio album titled “Love. Angel.

Her forthcoming album, Bouquet, is slated to release on November 15, 2024, via Interscope Records.

The upcoming album spans approximately 33 minutes and contains ten tracks in total. This marks her first project since the 2017 release titled “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.

Gwen has so far unveiled three songs from the album – “Somebody Else’s”, “Swallow My Tears”, and “Purple Irises”, a duet with her spouse Blake Shelton whom she tied the knot with in 2021.

In the year 1995, Gwen and her former spouse, Gavin, were initially rumored to be together after Gwen’s band, No Doubt, performed as an opening act for Gavin’s group, Bush, during one of their shows.

The band known as No Doubt, initially established by its blonde frontwoman, was founded all the way back in 1986, with their base located in Anaheim, California.

Throughout most of their journey, I, a die-hard fan, have been captivated by the core trio: Adrian Young on drums, Tom Dumont on guitar, and Tony Kanal handling bass duties, with her taking the reins as the lead vocalist.

Gwen’s sibling, the keyboardist known as Eric Stefani, had previously been part of the band during their initial phase when they started releasing albums in 1992.

As a devoted follower, I recall that despite our self-titled debut album not meeting our anticipated success, our second album, The Beacon Street Collection, truly took us to new heights. Released in 1995, it surpassed the 100,000 copies sold mark, catapulting our group into stardom.

The band released six studio albums, five compilation albums, three video albums.
