Riot Games just announced new Rain Shepherd skins for Tristana and Gwen, coming with the update in patch 25.23.
Two popular League of Legends champions are getting new looks as part of the Rain Shepherd skin line, which debuted in 2024. These new skins will be available in the game with the next update.
Rain Shepherd skin line
Tristana and Gwen are entering a new, nature-themed world filled with frogs, calm landscapes, and colorful water lilies. This universe first appeared in 2024 with Fizz and Milio, and now Gwen and Tristana will be exploring a version of it that’s become dry and silent – a world without water or sound.
Okay, so I’m totally hooked on this world from League of Legends! Apparently, the frogs used to be able to sing and that’s what brought the rain, but they’ve lost that ability. Things have gotten really dry because of it. But get this – they’ve been teaching a new group of people, these ‘Rain Shepherds,’ how to sing instead! They wear special rain gear and basically work to bring the moisture back and make everything green and beautiful again. Creative process
Tristana’s artist, Terence Cantal (known as Riot Terry), recently gave fans a peek into how the team created her new skin. He shared on X (formerly Twitter) that they playfully named several of the frogs in the skin’s artwork after team members – Layla, Mo, Jen, Bo, Julia, Rudy, Roanna, Fortune, Horace, and Alsie. Terry also posted a GIF showing the art’s evolution, from the first rough sketches to the vibrant, finished design.
Riot Terry has contributed to many well-loved character designs, including the Chosen of the Wolf Katarina, Exalted Spirit Blossom Morgana, Hall of Legends Immortalized Ahri, and the special Onsen Ahri skin.
The splash art for Rain Shepherd Gwen was created by Riot Fortune, the artist who also designed popular skins like Flora Fatalis Fiddlesticks, Spirit Blossom Springs Teemo, Arcane Professor Heimerdinger, and Faerie Court Lux.
Skins release
Tristana and Gwen are getting new looks in League of Legends with the update coming on November 23rd, patch 25.23. This will be one of the last updates of the year, and both new skins will be available for 1,350 RP – making them epic-tier skins.
