Guy Sebastian’s Anniversary Gift? You Won’t Believe What Happened!

As I reflect on my own journey, I can’t help but share a heartfelt tribute to my wonderful partner, Jules, as we commemorate seventeen beautiful years of marriage. Guy Sebastian, that’s me!

On Saturday, the famous singer posted a heartwarming old picture from the 2004 ARIA Awards red carpet, where they were a couple, onto Instagram.

Four years prior to their wedding, this photograph captures a deeply loving couple, evident even then.

In the picture, Guy was depicted, wearing his signature black, curly locks back then, posing on the red carpet alongside his future spouse.

With a wide grin, Jules posed for the gathering photographers, while Guy merely gazed affectionately at their companion.

On that particular evening, it proved to be a very fortunate one for Guy, as he received his initial ARIA award for the successful sale of his single featuring the track “Angels Brought Me Here,” which he released after Australian Idol.

In his latest post, he humorously mentioned his recent sports mishap resulting in a torn Achilles tendon which necessitated an emergency hospital visit and subsequent surgery.

He posted, “Congratulations on your 17th anniversary, @julessebastian! I guess I was wrong about having a few more years before needing your assistance with showering.

He continued the jokeshare by inserting a picture of Stan Laurel, famously known as part of the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy.

The event transpired following Guy’s collaboration with renowned AFL figure and radio personality, Brendan Fevola, over the weekend, aiming to assist the struggling club, Masala Dandenong, in ending a prolonged losing sequence.

Yet, an injury curtailed Guy’s afternoon during the fourth quarter, as he was spotted hobbling out of the park, being the pop star he is.

Or:

Injury brought a premature end to Guy’s afternoon in the fourth quarter, with him visibly limping from the park, a common sight for this famous pop star.

After the game, the man posted on social media: “I decided to dust off my cleats following a lengthy break, and played for the home crowd.

‘Great day out for Masala Dandenong getting their first win with @brendanfevola25 kicking a bag!

I’ve made a mess of things, unfortunately. #truthbomb #keeponkeepingon #footballmemorieswillalwaysbe cherished.

Brendan revealed the extent of Guy’s injuries the following day on Channel 7’s Sunday Footy Feast. 

During the final quarter, I watched as he tripped up, causing me to burst into laughter since he simply stumbled. He quipped, “It seems musicians shouldn’t play football, and footballers shouldn’t sing – stick to your own field,” he added.

He glanced about and commented, “It seems something has ruptured,” to which I replied, “That doesn’t sound favorable, as I have experience with the Achilles tendon.

‘He suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon and will undergo surgery on Monday. As a result, he’s currently hospitalized and unfortunately couldn’t attend his friend’s 40th birthday celebration. On the positive side, we’ve received some good media coverage from this incident, which is fantastic (laughs).’

Guy and Jules (née Egan) became engaged in late 2007 after eight years of courtship.

They tied the knot in May 2008 and have since welcomed two sons, Hudson 12, and Archie 11. 

2020 saw Guy disclose to Who Australia that Jules had initially been uncertain about having kids when their relationship began.

Jules had a more masculine demeanor during her childhood years. Much like certain women who eagerly anticipate becoming mothers, he explained.

Instead of her, Jules appeared terrified of it. I can’t recall any moment where she expressed a desire to become a mother, perhaps due to fear that she might not be able to perform well in the role, as he shared.

Although she had some doubts, Guy asserts that Jules seems to have effortlessly embraced motherhood with their two boys.

The pop star expressed admiration for his wife, stating, “She excels remarkably as a mother.

When you witness your partner taking care of those dear to them in such a role, it sparks a fresh affection within me. She’s doing an exceptional job!” he commented.
