Guy Sebastian hobbles out of court on crutches during trial with former manager Titus Day after being rushed to hospital for shock injury

On Tuesday, Guy Sebastian made his way from Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court using crutches, having only recently sustained a severe leg injury a few weeks prior.

In May, Sebastian suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon while playing a game of footy against renowned AFL player Brendan Fevola and was subsequently admitted to the hospital.

This week, the music producer aged 43, who will be testifying at the fraud trial of his ex-manager Titus Day, appeared in court with just one shoe on and a wrapped foot due to an injury.

Wearing a crisp blue blazer and black pants, Sebastian exited the Downing Centre alone.

The singer’s stylish appearance, accentuated by a leather bag worn casually over one shoulder, starkly contrasted the evident effort and struggle in every step he took with his crutches.

In May, Sebastian painfully tore his Achilles tendon during an ill-fated footy match.

Together, Sebastian and Fevola stepped in to assist the struggling club, Masala Dandenong, as they aimed to snap a prolonged losing run, all while an energetic audience looked on at Lois Twohig Reserve.

Initially starting as an amusing radio stunt, the game-time spectacle unfolded into a rugged field display, with Fevola and Sebastian guiding Masala to a nail-biting 55-53 victory against South Melbourne Districts.

Yet, Sebastian’s day at the park was unexpectedly ended due to an injury during the fourth quarter, as evidenced by him walking gingerly after the pop star.

This upcoming week, I, Sebastian, will be stepping up to testify in the court case against my ex-manager, Titus Day, who’s facing charges regarding embezzlement accusations.

Currently, Day is on trial at the New South Wales District Court, where he aims to clear allegations that he misappropriated a substantial amount of royalties and performance fees belonging to Sebastian.

He denies guilt for 34 charges related to embezzling funds while serving as a clerk or employee, and one charge involving an attempt to fraudulently gain a monetary benefit through deceit.

The trial began on Thursday, and it’s predicted that Sebastian will testify within the following few days, as reported by The Australian on Friday.

Initially, during his tenure as a senior executive for client management at the 22 Management Agency, Sebastian was overseen by Day, as revealed in court on Thursday.

In 2009, Day established his own agency 6Degrees, where Sebastian became the ‘marquee client’.

In my commitment to transparency, I found what seemed like inconsistencies in our financial documents, which subsequently strained our relationship with Sebastian.

It was additionally alleged that Day, receiving a 20% commission from Sebastian’s earnings post expenses, allegedly neglected to distribute royalties and performance fees accumulated for the Australian Idol champion.

According to the report, one accusation against Day stated that he didn’t fulfill a payment obligation of $187,000 – a fee for his opening act gig during Taylor Swift’s 2013 Australian concert tour to Sebastian.

On the inaugural day of Day’s trial last Thursday, I, as a devoted follower, learned from Crown Prosecutor Brett Hatfield SC that my trust in my manager was misused in a grave manner. He allegedly exploited the faith I had in him by illicitly taking my funds.

Besides Sebastian, Day boasts an impressive roster of notable clients such as Grant Denyer, Sophie Monk, Tina Arena, and Stephanie Rice.
