Guy Pearce Reveals Shocking Details About ‘Handsy’ Kevin Spacey in Old Interview!

In an old interview that has recently resurfaced, Guy Pearce admitted he found it challenging to discuss his experiences working with his L.A. Confidential co-star Kevin Spacey.

In a previous role, the 57-year-old actor known for Memento, who recently criticized Spacey amidst ongoing civil sexual abuse allegations, shared the screen with the American actor in 1997, marking a significant milestone in his career.

During an interview with Andrew Denton in 2018, Pearce openly discussed his work experience with Spacey and stated that he was quite touchy or overly familiar, using a term commonly associated with inappropriate physical contact.

At present, it’s challenging to discuss this topic. However, he’s an extraordinary, mind-blowing actor. Regrettably, there were some difficulties with Kevin, yes. He tends to be overly familiar or touchy. (Pearce said)

It seems that Pearce continues to harbor unfavorable opinions about Spacey, who faced allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017. More recently, Pearce confessed that he felt apprehensive when working with Spacey.

Spacey was subsequently cleared of all charges in a US court of law. 

On the Awards Chatter podcast, Pearce confided that he felt intimidated by Kevin because he’s quite assertive, incredibly charismatic, and has an exceptional ability to command a room. At the time, Pearce was relatively inexperienced and easily influenced.

He mentioned that he became more at ease in his presence when his co-star, the Australian Simon Baker (previously known as Denny), was present on the set.

‘He [Spacey] would focus on Denny because he’s much better looking than me,’ Guy explained.

Spacey responded to Pearce’s recent statements in a harsh video shared on social media, addressing the actor directly: “I’ve taken note of the comments you’ve made about me, and while I would have preferred to handle this privately, it seems you have your own motivations for making this public. We’ll see where this goes.

‘If you’re curious about my answer, perhaps it would be more mature to ask politely. By the way, didn’t you mention to the press that a year after we filmed L.A. Confidential, you traveled to Savannah, Georgia, while I was working on Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, to spend time with me?’

By any chance, did you share that information with the media as well? Or is it perhaps not consistent with the storyline you’re presenting about the victim?

In this suspenseful movie, both Pearce and Russell Crowe played the main characters when they were still not very well-known, with Spacey also featuring in the cast, based on a novel by James Ellroy.

2023 saw Spacey being acquitted of sexual assault allegations that arose during his tenure as the Artistic Director at the Old Vic Theatre, between the years 2005 and 2013.

16 months following his acquittal on multiple criminal charges, new allegations of sexual abuse surfaced against him, according to court documents.

Ruari Cannon has filed a lawsuit against Kevin and two organizations linked with the Old Vic Theatre in London, at the High Court.

Dushal Mehta, from legal firm Fieldfisher, verified that he submitted a lawsuit on behalf of Mr. Cannon, and added that Mr. Cannon has chosen to relinquish his anonymity in this particular case.

No details of the allegations involved are currently available.

In the past, Spacey had been found not guilty in court cases involving multiple sexual misconduct allegations made by four individuals from 2001 to 2013.

An unidentified man is among those who have taken legal action against Mr. Spacey, alleging that the actor sexually assaulted him. This claim has led to psychiatric harm, a fact that Mr. Spacey disputes.

The actor has denied all allegations of inappropriate behaviour and criminal wrongdoing.

Last year, in an interview with ex-GB News host Dan Wootton, he stated: ‘I acknowledge and accept accountability for my past conduct and decisions, but I won’t assume or offer apologies to those who have fabricated stories about me.’
