Guy Pearce Reveals He Was ‘Scared’ of Kevin Spacey on LA Confidential Set

In light of another alleged civil sexual misconduct claim against Kevin Spacey, his previous acting partner Guy Pearce recoils in remembrance of their time collaborating together.

In a poignant moment, the veteran actor, aged 57, grew emotional while reminiscing about his experiences working alongside Kevin, who was also 65, during the production of the 1997 crime movie “LA Confidential“.

On the Awards Chatter podcast, Guy openly shared: ‘Kevin was intimidating to me because he’s quite assertive, very charismatic, and has an exceptional ability to command a room. At that time, I was inexperienced and easily influenced.’

He mentioned that he found it easier to be at ease with Kevin when his fellow Australian co-star, previously known as Denny (Simon Baker), was present on the set.

‘He [Spacey] would focus on Denny because he’s much better looking than me,’ Guy explained.

In this suspenseful movie adaptation of James Ellroy’s book, it was Guy, Russell Crowe (then less recognized), and Kevin who took on the principal characters.

2023 saw the dismissal of sexual assault allegations against Spacey concerning his role as the artistic director at the Old Vic theatre between 2005 and 2013.

17 days ago, another sexual abuse allegation surfaced against him, as revealed by court documents – this comes 18 months following his acquittal on a set of criminal accusations.

Ruari Cannon has filed a lawsuit against Kevin, as well as two organizations linked with the Old Vic Theatre in London, at the High Court.

As a devoted representative at Fieldfisher, I have personally submitted a claim on behalf of Mr. Cannon, and I’ve chosen to relinquish my anonymity in this matter, making myself publicly associated with the case.

No details of the allegations involved are currently available.

Previously, Kevin had been found not guilty in court for multiple sexual misconduct charges brought forth by four men from the years 2001 to 2013.

One unidentified man has filed a lawsuit against Mr. Spacey, alleging that he was sexually assaulted by the actor and experienced psychological harm as a result. However, Mr. Spacey disputes these claims.

The actor has denied all allegations of inappropriate behaviour and criminal wrongdoing.

Last year, in an interview with Dan Wootton, a former GB News presenter, he expressed that he assumes accountability for his past conduct and decisions. However, he refuses to accept blame or offer apologies to those who fabricate information about him or distort the truth regarding his persona.

Kevin, who has won the Oscar twice, is recognized for his work on the U.S. version of “House of Cards” as well as “American Beauty.

In 1996, he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film “The Usual Suspects,” and in 2000, he received another Academy Award, this time for Best Actor, for “American Beauty.” This double accolade also earned him a BAFTA award for Leading Actor.

In April, the actor seemed to reject allegations of unsuitable conduct depicted in Channel 4’s documentary, instead commending the actors in the program for their exceptional performances.

Channel 4 aired a two-part documentary nine months following the dismissal of the sexual assault allegations against Kevin. The series explored new accusations against him, most of which were from individuals who had previously remained silent about their experiences.

I can’t help but delve deep into the life of a man who, at one point, was the epitome of admiration and respect within the acting world.
