Longtime Guns N’ Roses fans will likely recall the band being known for frequently canceling shows, starting concerts very late, and having dramatic, often confrontational, interactions with each other and their audience.
Guns N’ Roses seemed determined to alienate their fans at times, but their incredible music kept people loyal. The problem was they didn’t release enough music, which actually made their concerts feel like bigger events. It was a strange dynamic – pushing fans away while still captivating them.
The band’s tour was going well until a recent concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where singer Axl Rose unexpectedly became very upset. Fortunately, he quickly recovered and the show improved.
Guns N’ Roses explains Axl Rose’s meltdown at recent concert
The concert kicked off with the famous song “Welcome to the Jungle,” but things quickly got strange. After singing the chorus, lead singer Rose unexpectedly threw his microphone at the drum set and left the stage. Many wondered if the band’s new drummer, Isaac Carpenter, had caused the outburst, but it doesn’t seem that was the case.
After the concert, Guns N’ Roses explained that the issue stemmed from a problem with lead singer Axl Rose’s in-ear monitors. He was only able to hear the drums and couldn’t hear any of the other instruments. Surprisingly, he expressed his frustration by complaining about the drums – the one instrument he could hear.
The band firmly defended Carpenter, emphasizing that he’s a highly skilled and talented drummer, and shouldn’t be held responsible for any issues.
Honestly, the concert really turned around after the third song – things finally started flowing! But even then, a lot of us were still scratching our heads about why Axl came out looking so upset. It was a bit of a mystery!
Guns N’ Roses may be gearing up for some exciting news, though the band has hinted at new projects in the past that didn’t pan out. Guitarist Slash recently mentioned they have plenty of material for a new album. Their last studio album, Chinese Democracy, came out in 2008, but Slash wasn’t involved in that recording.
Slash recently told Guitar World that creating a new album is mostly about getting the band together in the studio and playing through the material. This means fans can look forward to the possibility of new music, but it might still come as a surprise if it actually happens.
