Gundam Celebrates 30 Years with New Real Grade Shining Gundam Model Kit

One of the most notorious anime within the franchise was “Mobile Fighter G Gundam“, which bore a stronger resemblance to a fighting game compared to traditional Real Robot mecha anime. Its primary mecha reflected these characteristics, and now this colossal robot is set to join the easiest-to-play toy series within the franchise.

Bandai is soon adding a Real Grade 1/144 model kit of the legendary Shining Gundam, originally piloted by Domon Kasshu, to its lineup. This mecha shared similarities and differences with other well-known Gundam mechs. In celebration of the anime’s recent achievement, this model kit is scheduled for release within the coming month.

The Newest Real Grade Gundam Model Kit Glows With an Awesome Power

Similar to other Real Grade models, the forthcoming Shining Gundam model kit by Bandai offers a blend of size and affordability with some intricate details found in the Master Grade and Perfect Grade toys. It meticulously recreates the design from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, complete with textures and details that enthusiasts expect.

This model kit showcases the ability to transform into its Super Mode, where panels on the head, shoulder pads, and gauntlets deploy for an authentic representation of the anime’s design. The Shining Gundam comes equipped with two Beam Sabers, the only weapons it uses, as well as interchangeable hands that mimic the “Shining Finger” attack from the series. Boasting a high level of articulation, the model kit’s neck also offers three-axis mobility to assume numerous dynamic poses.

This kit enables fans to replicate all famous martial arts moves from the animated series, G Gundam. Initially planned for launch in April 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the start of the G Gundam anime in April 1994, it was later postponed to June 2025. Fans can now pre-order this model kit on sites like Hobby Link Japan for $28.31 USD. Mobile Fighter G Gundam was the initial Gundam anime set in an alternate universe, as it occurred outside of the standard series. Upon release, it stirred some controversy but its quirky style made it more of a Super Robot mecha anime. As of now, there’s no word on whether additional G Gundam Real Grade kits will be released for the anime’s 30th anniversary.
