Guess Who? EastEnders Star’s Daughter Trades Acting for Modeling Spotlight!

Through her outspoken role on the British soap opera, EastEnders, her well-known mother established a strong reputation for herself.

Instead, Emilia Merkell chose a modeling career rather than following her mother’s path in acting.

At 23 years old, she’s contracted with Women Management Los Angeles. A quick glance at her Instagram suggests that this “nepotism kid” additionally models for various swimsuit labels.

In her latest update, she’s found basking in the grass, showcasing her authentic charm during a photo session for the Salt And Stone beauty company.

Meanwhile her redhead mother most recently appeared on one of the UK’s most popular reality shows. 

But can you guess who Emilia’s famous mother is? 

That’s right it’s Patsy Palmer! 

This month, Patsy decided to trade Los Angeles for the Celebrity Big Brother house, as she became a part of the second installment of its ITV revival.

On Wednesday evening, the EastEnders actress was asked to leave the house, and she candidly discussed feeling homesick while participating in the program.

The star is married to Richard and has three children: Fenton (24 years old), Emilia (23), and Bertie (13). Additionally, she has a son named Charley Palmer Rothwell, who is 33 years old and resides in the UK, from a previous relationship with Alfie Rothwell.

Discussing her past experiences with EastEnders, she referred to it as a demanding and all-consuming production. However, she cherished the quality family time she was able to spend upon leaving for work.

For years, I’ve been a dedicated member of the EastEnders family, joining in 1993. Yet, as opportunities for new adventures in television and film started knocking, I found myself compelled to explore these fresh paths.

‘Then I had my son Fenton, and then Emilia, so it has always been career, kids, career, kids.

I always made sure not to miss EastEnders as it consumed me entirely, so it was refreshing to spend some quality time with my family. Still, I cherished the moments I had immersed in that show.

Previously, her schoolmates used to constantly question Emilia about her well-known mother’s profession. As a result, the school allowed her to eat lunch alone ahead of time, to minimize these interactions.

She explained: ‘All the other kids were driving her mad about me, saying things all the time. 

‘It was never mean stuff, and she was never bullied; she just found it all kind of overwhelming. 

‘Sometimes she’d say to me: “I just don’t know who my real friends are.”‘

On Wednesday night’s Late and Live, Patsy dismissed rumors suggesting an early exit from the house, as she handled the interview with some initial discomfort.

Charley Marlowe, the guest, posed a question to Patsy: “It seems like you really yearned for your family in there. At any moment, did you consider just jumping the fence?

Patsy said, “Um, no, I didn’t feel like going for a walk.” At this, the guest couldn’t help but laugh heartily, yet Patsy kept her expression stoic.

She added: “Everyone is there to perform their tasks, and I aimed to make it beneficial for them. Initially, it was quite challenging for me to be in that environment.

Before I entered, we had already experienced numerous personal challenges. As some energies departed from our home, we all felt a sense of relaxation and were able to face and overcome difficulties collectively.

It typically takes me some time to feel completely comfortable around new people; however, as I get to know them better, I begin to enjoy their company. Eventually, I found that I didn’t want to attend anymore.

Host Will said: ‘You ended on a high.’

In January, Patsy was one of many Malibu locals whose lives were significantly disrupted due to the destructive wildfires that swept through Los Angeles at the time.

For more than a decade, the actress has resided in the United States alongside her children and spouse Richard. They moved there in 2014, as her role on EastEnders concluded.

Patsy expressed her grief as fires ravaged what she calls home, Los Angeles. She penned down that her mind felt overwhelmed, and many of her local friends unfortunately lost their residences to the blaze.

I, a devoted follower, found myself back in the UK prior to the devastating fires igniting. The distance made it incredibly challenging for me, as I watched these flames rage on.

As an ardent admirer, I’m compelled to express my heartache. My beloved hometown, once again engulfed by flames, leaves me utterly shattered. After recently returning home following the fires a fortnight ago, I was forced to depart for work in the UK on Saturday, only to find myself confronted with this devastating sight once more.

As a dedicated follower, I’m grateful that my loved ones remain secure, yet it’s heart-wrenching to see many of my friends displaced once more, facing the devastation of losing their homes – an incredibly traumatic experience for all involved.

Struggling from Afar, But Holding On

Being so distant is incredibly challenging. As I type this message, my heart is heavy with both prayers and tears. I feel powerless in my current location, but my prayers are strong for you. If there’s anything you need during this difficult time, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Fortunately, Richard and the kids are safe and have been evacuated. This situation is immense, not at all what I anticipated. I am heartbroken. Stay safe.
