Grotesquerie episode 10 (finale) review: I guess we’ll never know!

As a fan who’s been through a rollercoaster of emotions with shows like “American Horror Story” under Ryan Murphy, I must say, the Grotesquerie season 1 finale left me more puzzled than a Rubik’s Cube on shuffle.

In this rephrasing, I’ve aimed to make the text more conversational while maintaining clarity:

Final spoiler warning! Stream the Grotesquerie season 1 finale on Hulu before reading ahead.

Did you anticipate that the first season finale of “Grotesquerie” would provide resolution and answers? But if Ryan Murphy has anything to say about it, don’t count on it! Let me share my emotional journey throughout the series with you. At first, I found myself drawn in by the show. I appreciated its tighter narrative compared to other Murphy productions like “American Horror Story”. I also admired the cast and was captivated by Lois’s (Niecy Nash-Betts) storyline. However, by episode 4, my interest started to wane.

As a devoted fan, I found myself engulfed in the intricate web of plots and characters that the story had spun. But then, something unprecedented happened at episode 7 – everything shifted dramatically. Whether this twist was for the better is up for debate, but it seems like many viewers believe it’s one of the worst plot twists of the year (or even ever). Despite my initial doubts, I was hooked and couldn’t stop watching. However, the ending didn’t deliver on its promises – far from it!

What happens in the Grotesquerie season 1 finale?

The ending of Episode 10 feels both disappointing and aggravating. It failed to provide resolution for any characters, except perhaps Charlie, whose fate was death. However, it left us with more queries than answers regarding the others. And, as for the central question – who is Grotesquerie? I’m just as clueless because that part wasn’t clarified either.

At the crime scene, Lois takes a moment to survey the area, as she’s unfamiliar with most of the victims, save for Charlie. The accuser of Marshall, who has made sexual assault allegations, is also among the victims, but Lois hadn’t known her. Addressing the crowd, Lois declares that she knows who committed this crime and urges them to gather at her old workplace in an hour.

As a dedicated viewer, let me express my curiosity: Who’s that, Lois? Spill the beans! The mystery at hand is what keeps us hooked! Alas, it seems we may never find out… For episode 10 marks the end of the season, and there’s no sign of episode 11. And so, with a heavy heart, I say: That’s all, folks! Will the truth be revealed? Perhaps if Grotesquerie gets another season, but that’s not set in stone yet. Frankly, I ponder whether we even want answers anymore. If the series returns, I doubt I’ll tune in. This show has been such a letdown, and not even Travis Kelce’s fame could salvage it.
