In Mobile Legends Battle Arena (MLBA), the forthcoming Grock Makeover won’t just serve as a defensive stronghold, but it’ll also pose a challenge to characters specializing in Physical Damage.

In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Grock is set for an upgrade, and it’s going to be a tough challenge for Physical Damage heroes. Instead of scaling with Physical Attack, Grock’s attack power will now scale with the enemy’s Physical Defense. On top of that, he can inflict damage based on an enemy hero’s Maximum Health (HP). This transformation turns Grock from a mere defensive stone wall into a formidable force capable of chipping away at tank heroes’ health with his attacks.

Grock revamp in MLBB: All new skills

Passive: Bastion of Stone

  • Grock gains a Shield based on a percentage of his Max HP.
  • His next Basic Attack deals bonus Physical Damage that scales with his Physical Defense and the target’s Max HP.
  • Grock becomes immune to crowd control while casting his skills.
  • While the Shield is active, Grock gains additional Physical Defense that increases with his level.

I find myself prioritizing building up my Physical Defense for maximum damage output in combat. Not only that, but having an active shield also boosts my Physical Defense even further. This makes me a solid choice when going up against assassins such as Nolan, Ling, or Lancelot, and fighters including Lapu-Lapu and Phoveus.

Skill 1: Mighty Swing

  • Grock revamp slams forward, dealing significant Physical Damage based on his Extra Physical Attack.
  • The slam can knock enemies back. If they hit a terrain, they are knocked airborne and deal bonus Physical Damage based on their Max HP. 

This ability works well against mobile champions who tend to cling to walls, such as Ling and Fanny, by effectively reducing their movement speed.

Skill 2: Earthen Rampart

  • Summons a stone wall that can knock enemies and deal damage.
  • Cast this skill again to remove the wall early.

As a devoted admirer of epic battles, I’d like to share an interesting tactic: Utilizing walls to counteract channeling abilities such as those wielded by Pharsa and Yve. This strategy can often thwart their escape attempts.

Ultimate: Tectonic Charge

  • Grock dashes forward, damaging all enemies in his path.
  • If he collides with a terrain, he stops and triggers a powerful explosion that knocks enemies airborne.
  • If he does not hit a terrain, the cooldown is slightly reduced.

This ability is extremely beneficial when initiating team battles. In case there’s no suitable terrain to strike, utilize your Skill 2: Earthen Barrier and charge into it for the knock-back impact. Unlike his former Ultimate, enemies won’t be knocked back if you can’t hit a terrain, so make sure to strike one whenever possible.

When is the release date of the Grock revamp in MLBB?

The updated version of Grock in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be available starting August 8, 2025. During the first week after its release, you can obtain this hero and his Elite skin at a 30% discount by using Diamonds. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a skin for a reduced price.
