Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie will be back for a third season of the popular drama Vigil later this year. The BBC has released some initial photos offering a sneak peek at the new series, which has already finished filming in Svalbard and Scotland.
Jones and Leslie are returning as detectives Amy Silva and Kirsten Longacre in a new case. They’ll be investigating a shooting at a secluded research station in the Arctic, where a member of a secret British military team was killed.
Amy and Kirsten face a dangerous mission: they must stop a killer and prevent an international crisis. The conflict is fueled by a struggle for energy and resources in the Arctic, and the stakes are high – their jobs and their relationship are both at risk.
