The new Sky series centers around a devastating storm unlike anything seen in decades, and follows a former detective – portrayed by Kelly Reilly – as she uncovers something terrible in the storm’s wake.
The show will officially launch on Sky and NOW on January 30, 2026. A new trailer has also been released, offering a more detailed look following a short teaser.
What to Read Next
In the preview, Jackie Ellis, played by Reilly, discovers a body and is driven to uncover the truth before another storm hits. But she receives a chilling warning: accusing anyone in town will have serious consequences.
The novel Under Salt Marsh centers around a discovery that brings back painful memories connected to a three-year-old unsolved case, costing the main character her job and the trust of her family.

So, I’m hearing my character, Jackie, has to team up with her old partner, Eric Bull – played by Rafe Spall, by the way. Apparently, we’re getting pulled into a case that’s going to completely rock this town called Morfa Halen. Sounds intense!
They have to face a town filled with hidden secrets and deep sorrow, all before an approaching storm destroys everything and buries the truth.
Jonathan Pryce (known from The Crown), Mark Stanley (Trigger Point), Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Harry Lawtey (Industry), Naomi Yang (Chimerica), and Dinita Gohil (Treason) are also featured in the series. Claire Oakley created, wrote, and directed it.

Producers at Little Door are thrilled with the actors who are playing these roles, as CEO Elwen Rowlands shared previously.
Claire’s scripts create a captivating story about a close-knit community and their powerful connection to the natural world. The emotional depth of the story is perfectly complemented by the breathtaking scenery of North Wales, where it all takes place.
Under Salt Marsh premieres on 30 January, 2026 on Sky and NOW.
