2022 saw the release of a movie, both produced and directed by the Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard, that reenacts the Tham Luang cave rescue. This was a true event where 12 teenagers and an adult found themselves trapped in a Thailand cave following heavy rainfall.
In the United Kingdom, you can currently watch “Thirteen Lives” without charge, as it was recently added to BBC iPlayer. However, don’t delay if you want to see this fact-based drama, because it will be taken off the streaming platform on August 26.
The movie initially streamed on Amazon Prime Video features an impressive ensemble, including Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Viggo Mortensen, and Tom Bateman as its main stars. Local talents round out the supporting cast, with William Nicholson penning the script.

In their opinion, the tale this movie presents is so remarkable that any shortcomings in its delivery are overshadowed. IndieWire expressed this viewpoint, while Newsday described it as a captivating and suspenseful film that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final moment.
The Reviewer also showered praises, penning: “Even though everyone is aware of the end result, and it’s the third movie in a row that narrates the story, Ron Howard’s portrayal of the events remains captivatingly watchable and nail-bitingly suspenseful.
Although Thirteen Lives is now available on BBC iPlayer, it’s worth noting that a beloved horror movie featuring Cillian Murphy will soon depart from the streaming service. The zombie film 28 Days Later is scheduled for removal on August 11.
