“Gripping” crime thriller that ‘keeps you guessing’ is now trending on UK streamer

Currently popular on a UK streaming platform is the engrossing and captivating crime thriller, affectionately known as “Detained“.

2024’s movie centers around Rebecca Kamen (Abbie Cornish), who finds herself in a police station, charged with hit-and-run, and uncovers a chilling conspiracy as events unfold. Hiding her own hidden past, Rebecca embarks on an investigation to reveal the truth.

Under the guidance of director Felipe Mucci, who collaborated with Jeremy Palmer on the script, the movie titled “Detained” has been captivating viewers on Amazon Prime Video. The platform has shared that it’s currently climbing their list of popular titles.

In the film “Detained,” starring Laz Alonso and Moon Bloodgood, critical reception was largely favorable when it premiered. As of now, Rotten Tomatoes indicates a positive rating of 71%, based on 17 different reviews.

The movie has a captivating simplicity about it, as it places a group of ordinary individuals in an extraordinary predicament and lets their interactions lead to most of their demise. This was observed by RogerEbert.com, who appreciated the film’s basic enjoyments.

The San Jose Mercury News described this as a thrilling ride perfect for letting go during weekends, using words like “satisfying” and “recklessly enjoyable.” They also mentioned that the excessively wild and unpredictable storyline would leave audiences on their toes, wondering what comes next.
