The psychological thriller *Blood*, featuring Adrian Dunbar of *Line of Duty*, is now available to stream in the UK after originally airing on Channel 5 in the UK and Virgin Media One in Ireland.
The show’s first season centers around a woman, portrayed by Carolina Main of *Unforgotten*, who comes back to her hometown following the death of her mother.
Though people say it was an accident, she can’t shake the feeling her father is involved, especially with old childhood memories coming back. As suspicion grows and everyone starts to distrust each other, the real story remains hidden.
What to Read Next
The show’s second season premiered in 2020, two years after the first, and continues the storyline. However, revealing any details would ruin the impact of what happened previously.
The thriller series *Blood* will be available on Netflix starting Sunday, October 19th. You can also watch it now on Acorn TV, either directly on their website or through Prime Video as an add-on channel.

When the show first came out, critics generally liked it. In fact, *The Guardian* praised it as “one of the best dramas in recent years,” highlighting its cleverness and ability to keep viewers engaged without talking down to them.
According to the *Sydney Morning Herald*, this series is immediately captivating and builds suspense quickly. The interesting characters and their histories create a sense that unexpected events could happen at any moment.
The Irish Times commended Main’s performance as ‘excellent and subtly brilliant,’ and highlighted how the work offers a uniquely refreshing portrayal of Ireland.

In a recent review of underappreciated TV shows, TIME Magazine praised the show’s clever surprises. They also highlighted that the show’s strong sense of Irish identity-evident in everything from the beautiful scenery to the use of poetry by Yeats-is enjoyable in its own right.
Dunbar shared some encouraging news about a potential seventh season of *Line of Duty*, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
We’re thrilled to be reading a script for *Line of Duty* and finding out what’s in store for our characters. Jed Mercurio is writing it, and we’ve been in discussions with the BBC about it.
The BBC will be officially announcing things, but we’re hoping we’ll get to make another series next year. We’re sure Jed will come up with some exciting new plot developments.
Blood can be streamed now on Acorn TV, and will come to Netflix on 19 October.
