“Gripping” Aberdeen-set BBC crime drama reveals exciting update on returning series

The popular BBC crime series, “Granite Harbour,” which is based in Aberdeen, has shared an enticing sneak peek about its forthcoming third season with its audience.

The series made its premiere in 2022, centering around detectives DC Davis Lindo, played by Romario Simpson, and DS Lara ‘Bart’ Bartlett, portrayed by Hannah Donaldson. They are based in a Scottish city where they tackle various cases.

It’s been officially announced that shooting for the upcoming season is now underway in Aberdeen and various other spots around Scotland. A sneak peek photo from the set, featuring Simpson and Donaldson alongside a clapperboard, has also been released.

In their reunion, Dawn Steele returns as DCI Cora Macmillan, and Michelle Jeram makes a comeback as DS Simone ‘Monty’ Montrose.

The newcomers in the cast are John Gordon Sinclair, who plays Chief Constable Graeme Willis from Traces, Ellie Haddington, known for her role as Rose Gough in Motherland, and Alastair Mackenzie, who portrays Richard Loughty from Vigil.

Granite Harbour will return in 2026 on BBC One, BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer.
