Grief-stricken Nicole Kidman is comforted by her husband Keith Urban at her mother Janelle’s funeral as their daughter Sunday Rose breaks down in tears
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity dynamics and personal growth journeys, I find myself deeply moved by the story of Nicole Kidman and her family. The bond between a mother and daughter is one of the most profound relationships we can experience, and it’s heartwarming to see how Nicole has cherished hers with Janelle.
At a funeral for her mother, Janelle, held in Sydney on Tuesday, Nicole Kidman was comforted by her loving spouse, Keith Urban, as they both were present.
The Australian actress, 57, looked sombre as she joined her family at St Francis Xavier Church in Lavender Bay to farewell her beloved mother.
Janelle tragically passed away at the age of 84 last month, mere hours before Nicole received the Best Actress award for her performance in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.
Nicole found strength on her emotional day from her sister Antonia, her spouse Keith, and her daughters Sunday Rose (aged 16) and Faith (aged 14).
At the church, Nicole was spotted walking in, hand-in-hand with her loving spouse Keith, who was 56 years old. Throughout the service, he stood by her side offering his assistance and support.
At the same church where Antony, Nicole’s dad, was laid to rest following his heart attack in September 2014, they bid goodbye to Janelle.
Nicole hails from Honolulu, but grew up in Sydney under the care of her mother Janelle and her psychiatrist father, Antony, along with her younger sibling Antonia.
As a teen, Nicole nurtured her love for acting, which eventually propelled her to international stardom with the unwavering encouragement from both her parents.
Over time, they both stayed actively engaged in her professional life, and just recently, Nicole openly shared that she continues seeking guidance from her mother.
In November, it was revealed that the actress from Big Little Lies frequently sought fashion advice from her mom, Janelle, even though she collaborates with numerous skilled stylists.
Expressing the closeness they share, Nicole shared with People, “My mom continues to be very much engaged in my fashion choices.
Nicole’s bold fashion selections are well-known, but it was actually her mother and grandmother who initially nurtured her passion for clothing.
She expressed her deep affection for fashion, a passion that has been with her for a long time, during her speech at the Planet Omega pop-up event in New York.
She was raised, being a young girl, surrounded by two women who adored fashion and had the skill of sewing – her grandmother and mother. Both of them appreciated exquisite clothing. They were adept at creating elegant garments.
“Growing up, I often saw family members sewing, embroidering, knitting, and crocheting, and I believe that exposure to such activities can cultivate a deep appreciation for them.
I simply can’t contain my adoration for Janelle; last year on her 82nd birthday, I poured out my heart in a heartfelt tribute that spoke volumes of my admiration for her.
On Instagram, she shared a series of photos capturing moments from a joyous gathering with Janelle and her loved ones, complete with heartfelt comments in the caption.
‘Happy birthday, mumma. You are so loved by all of us,’ Nicole wrote.
Apart from her busy schedule at the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles alongside her husband, Keith Urban, she also found a moment to extend birthday greetings to her mother.
Today is my mother’s birthday, and I wish her a joyous celebration. Happy Birthday, Mom. Our affection for you knows no bounds. -Nicole, addressing the camera.
Upon returning to Sydney, we threw a celebration in her honor because she’s the pulsating core of our family, and that’s why we adore you, Mom.
During a conversation with The Sydney Morning Herald in May 2020, Nicole expressed her feelings of longing for her mother while residing overseas in the U.S.
At one point, she expressed her desire for us to share a cup of tea together on the balcony, chat about life, and listen to her advice regarding my actions.
In September 2014, I, Nicole, lost my beloved father Anthony, who was 75 years old, to a sudden heart attack. Our bond was unbreakable and profound.
Previously, the Academy Award-winning actress openly shared that the unexpected passing of her father, along with several subsequent losses, left a profound impact on her.
In a heartfelt sharing with the Sydney Morning Herald back in 2020, I expressed that death has come to me unexpectedly and swiftly. Unlike some who have witnessed a slow and drawn-out farewell, my experiences have been more of sudden departures.
I’ve experienced it multiple times, and every time I mention it, I grow anxious, fearing that it might occur again. There’s a significant amount of apprehension I hold regarding that situation.
