GRID has purchased the assets of Bayes Esports to improve and expand its esports betting platform, GRID Bet.
GRID, a company that provides data for esports, has bought out Bayes Esports after Bayes went out of business. This deal will help GRID expand its new betting platform, called GRID Bet.
GRID acquires Bayes Esports
GRID has purchased the intellectual property of Bayes Esports and will add it to its GRID Bet platform. Bayes Esports, an esports data company based in Berlin, filed for insolvency in August of last year. While the exact reasons for their financial difficulties weren’t stated, losing the contract with the Esports World Cup Foundation likely played a significant role. GRID Esports secured that contract in June, taking it from Bayes Esports.
Earlier this year, Bayes lost their partnership with ESL FACEIT Group to GRID, which meant they were no longer able to participate in major tournaments like Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and the ESL Pro League.
Following this acquisition, the Bayes Esports official website now links to GRID’s.
After nearly ten years of development, Bayes’ key technologies – including real-time data for trading, predictive modeling, and tools to connect with fans – will become part of the GRID Data Platform. This will primarily benefit GRID Bet, helping them build a complete solution for legal esports betting. With this integration, users can expect an even better experience from GRID Bet.
According to GRID’s Founder and CEO, Moritz Maurer, buying Bayes’ assets will significantly boost their ability to help esports teams and players profit, and will be a key step in developing the future of esports betting.
GRID recently launched GRID Bet, a new service focused on esports betting. They plan to use their existing relationships with major esports organizations – including Riot Games, ESL FACEIT Group, and BLAST – to offer betting options on a broad range of popular games. These partnerships give GRID access to data for the most popular esports titles, like League of Legends, VALORANT, Counter-Strike 2, and Dota 2.
