Patrick Dempsey has landed his next lead movie role.
Actress from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ will appear alongside Minnie Driver in ‘The Household Guide to Dying’, a film adaptation of Debra Adelaide’s book with the same title.
As reported by Deadline, Emma-Kate Croghan is directing the upcoming movie, marking her return to filmmaking after a 25-year hiatus. At this time, specific details about the roles of Dempsey and Driver remain undisclosed.
The official book synopsis teases a “moving” and “darkly comic” tale that centres on Delia, a 40-year-old writer who is given a terminal diagnosis and sees a new book opportunity.
Delia earns a living by authoring a series of highly successful contemporary household manuals, along with a witty domestic advice column. Her thoughts often revolve around preparing herself and her family for the eventuality of death; she meticulously prepares detailed checklists, and even teaches her young daughters how to brew the perfect cup of tea.
Delia requires a guidebook – one that she’s skilled at crafting. However, while composing this manual, Delia encounters spectral remnants from her past and recalls incidents from fourteen years ago.
Recently, Dempsey hasn’t just been cast in one role; he’s also landed parts in “Enchanted” and “Bridget Jones’ Baby,” and now he’s set to appear in the prequel series of “Dexter,” titled “Original Sin.
I’m thrilled to be stepping into the role of Aaron Spencer, captain of the Miami Metro Homicide department. This character shares a deep, lasting bond with Dexter’s adoptive father, Harry Morgan, a relationship brought to life brilliantly on screen by the talented Christian Slater. Can’t wait to delve deeper into this intriguing storyline!
