Grey’s Anatomy star is haunted by a hungry ghost in chilling first look at new horror movie

The initial trailer for the upcoming horror movie titled Saccharine, starring the talented actress Midori Francis known from Grey’s Anatomy, is now available to watch.

Currently, Francis is renowned for portraying Dr. Mika Yasuda; however, he is now cast as a medical student engaging in an unusual weight-loss trend – consuming cremated remains of humans.

That leads to her becoming haunted by a ghost, one with quite the voracious appetite…

Initially, we see two fresh visuals. One depicts our main character appearing alarmed as she gazes intently into a spoon, attempting to discern a reflection within it.

From a distance, it appears she’s resting in a bed, but upon closer look, it’s revealed that the “bed” is actually constructed from garbage bags.

At present, the movie is set to debut exclusively in Australia. Stan, a streaming platform, will be the first to screen it in cinemas, followed by its availability for home viewing.

The film titled “Saccharine” was produced in Melbourne, under the guidance of Australian-American/Japanese director Natalie Erika James, who is known for movies like “Relic” and a prequel to “Rosemary’s Baby, Apartment 7A“. The cast includes talented Australian actors Danielle Macdonald (from “The Tourist“) and Madeleine Madden (from “The Wheel of Time” series).

Stan’s Chief Content Officer, Cailah Scobie, announced that we have an enthralling new addition to our collection of Stan Original Films, specifically tailored for our horror enthusiasts. This is a fresh production destined to thrill them!

Natalie Erika James is an accomplished director in this genre who we have enjoyed collaborating with, alongside Carver Films and Thrum Films. With the exceptional talent of our lead actors Midori, Danielle, and Madeleine, Saccharine promises a uniquely Australian feature film that will strike a chord with audiences worldwide.

The sweetener Saccharine is set to hit the big screens in Australian theaters first, followed by its appearance on the streaming platform Stan; however, specific dates are yet to be disclosed. As for a release plan in the United Kingdom, it remains unannounced at this time.

Grey’s Anatomy” is broadcasted every Thursday at 10 PM Eastern Time on ABC in the United States. If you haven’t seen previous seasons, you can stream them on Disney+ in the UK.
