Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane has revealed he has been diagnosed with ALS.
In a recent interview, the performer, famed for his roles as both Mark Sloan in the medical series and Cal Jacobs on Euphoria, disclosed that he is battling a fatal neurological condition.
He informed People that he has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He expressed his gratitude for having his supportive family with him during this new phase of life.
As an ardent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the talented actor has expressed his intention to keep pushing forward in his career. He mentioned that the cameras for the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria are set to roll very shortly!
I consider myself lucky to be able to carry on with work, and I’m excited to get back to the Euphoria set next week. I would appreciate it if you could respect our privacy during this period as we transition back.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often known as ALS, is a specific form of neurodegenerative disorder that impacts motor neurons situated in the brain and spinal cord. This condition leads to a gradual loss of muscle function, as there’s currently no available cure (as reported by Mayo Clinic).
As a devoted follower, I’ve come to understand that this condition may gradually impact my ability to breathe, speak, and eat effectively. Generally, life expectancy ranges from three to five years, although there are exceptional instances where individuals have managed to live for 20 years or longer. This information is provided by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Apart from “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria”, Dane has also been featured in shows like “Charmed”, “X-Men: The Last Stand”, “Marley & Me”, and the movie “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”.

The previous year saw the actor publicly discuss his departure from Grey’s Anatomy, sharing memories of his struggles with substance abuse and rapid celebrity during that period.
He mentioned that he wasn’t the one to depart, rather, he felt he was dismissed. He clarified that his alcohol and drug addiction weren’t the reasons for his dismissal, but they undeniably didn’t aid the situation during his interview on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.
During my entire eight-year stint on Grey’s, I spent more time in a state of chaos than I did being sober. It was around this period that things began to take a turn for the worse in my life.
