As a longtime fan of both One Tree Hill and Grey’s Anatomy, I can hardly contain my excitement about Sophia Bush joining the cast for season 21! With her extensive background playing strong, intelligent female characters, particularly surgeons, she seems like a perfect fit for the medical drama.


One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush has joined the cast of Grey’s Anatomy for season 21.

Actor from the show “Chicago PD” will reportedly take on a significant, ongoing part in the popular medical series, as stated by Deadline.

In the upcoming series, Bush is set to portray Dr. Cass Beckman, a trauma surgeon at a Presbyterian hospital in Seattle. Notably, her husband, Dr. David Beckman, holds a position as a cardiothoracic surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

It has not yet been announced who will be playing David in the show.

Known for her portrayal of Brooke Davis on the successful drama series “One Tree Hill,” as well as roles in films such as “John Tucker Must Die,” “The Hitcher,” “The Narrows,” and “Good Sam,” where she takes on the character of a surgeon, Bush has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

Previously, Meg Marinis, our superior, hinted at additional “intense sequences” in the upcoming season as it will be broadcasted at a delayed schedule in the United States.

Marinis shared with The Hollywood Reporter: “This is our debut at 10 pm. Of course, I plan to test the limits as much as possible. However, rest assured, the essence of our show remains unchanged.

Additionally, she discussed the ongoing role of Meredith in the series, remarking: “Her presence is constant within the show, although she may not physically be there. She continues to provide voiceovers, and we frequently discuss her character.

“She and I have a great relationship and work really well with one another.”

In the United States, the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy season 21 is set for September 26 at 10pm Eastern Time, exclusively on ABC. For those in the UK who wish to catch up on previous seasons, they can be found streaming on Disney+.
