Get ready for an uncomfortable but exciting reunion on the next episode! A familiar face from last season – a character who really caused some trouble – is coming back. And if you’ve seen Grey’s Anatomy before, you know this means plenty of romantic drama and tension.
TVLine is sharing a sneak peek from the Oct. 23 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, called “Between Two Lungs.” The clip shows the return of actress , who plays trauma surgeon Cass Beckman. She unexpectedly encounters Teddy Altman (Kim Raver), and their history is complicated – they had a brief romantic relationship last season while both were in open relationships, and things didn’t end well between them.
Cass and Teddy have an unexpected reunion in an elevator. Teddy awkwardly acts as if she’s still with Owen, and is so surprised to see Cass that she nearly forgets to introduce her to Jo. The scene ends with Cass leaving the elevator and telling Teddy she’s happy they bumped into each other.
Will Sparks Fly Between Cass and Teddy Again on Grey’s Anatomy?
Teddy and Cass’s brief romance on Grey’s Anatomy ended because Teddy felt guilty about cheating on her husband and was unsure about what she wanted. But Cass seems to have moved on, potentially leading to a rekindled and more intense connection between them.
Before the new season started, I spoke with Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Meg Marinis, and she strongly hinted at a possible reunion for characters Cass and Teddy. She admitted they’d be thrilled to have the actress back on the show, and that it would make sense within the storyline if it happened.
When Sophia Bush first appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, the director, Marinis, described her as having this incredible energy – a real spark! He said the character they wrote for her reflected that perfectly. Whether she was dealing with colleagues or in personal scenes, people just naturally gravitated towards her, and I totally get why watching her on screen!
In the new episode of “Between Two Lungs,” starring Sophia Bush, a challenging lung transplant tests the skills of the surgeons. At the same time, Bailey faces a critical trauma case where a patient’s life is on the line.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
