The later timeslot means we might get a bit more steamy scenes, but let’s not forget that this is still Grey’s Anatomy – it’s not going to turn into a daytime soap opera just yet.

Meg Marinis, the executive producer of Grey’s Anatomy, hinted at the possibility of featuring more passionate or romantic moments in the upcoming season 21, as the series undergoes a significant transformation.

The upcoming episodes of this series are currently being broadcasted on ABC in the U.S., specifically at 10pm, marking a new timeslot for the show. This later air time opens up an opportunity for slightly bolder content, yet Marinis emphasizes that they won’t push the boundaries excessively just because they can.

She informed The Hollywood Reporter that this year marks our initial run at 10 pm, expressing that she intends to test limits as much as possible, while ensuring the essence of the show remains intact. When asked about the possibility of Pompeo appearing in more episodes, Marinis responded: “At this point, I’m not certain about the exact number, and our approach is usually not to film everything at once.

However, let me clarify that her narrative resumes as we kick off this new season. In terms of Ellen, our approach is always welcoming. Whenever it’s feasible for Ellen to join us on set and be part of the episodes, we genuinely enjoy having her with us.

“She’s always present in the show, even if she’s not in it in it. She has voiceover still, and we talk about her character all the time. She and I have a great relationship and work really well with one another.”
