Good news for fans of the movie Gremlins! A third film has been officially announced, over 35 years after the second one. And it’s happening sooner than many expected!
The creatures are coming back for more trouble, and Chris Columbus – who wrote the original 1984 film – is leading the project. He’s working with the directors of The Thursday Murder Club and Final Destination: Bloodlines to write the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While the exact story is still a secret, Warner Bros. has announced the movie will be released in theaters on November 19, 2027 – just over two years from now. Steven Spielberg returns as an executive producer for the sequel.

The classic movie Gremlins is back with a new animated series on Max, featuring voice actors Simu Liu, known for his work in Marvel films, and Ming-Na Wen from The Mandalorian.
The movie series centers around adorable creatures with very specific care instructions – most importantly, they can’t be fed after midnight. The story begins when a creature named Gizmo is given to Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan), and soon, more creatures appear, leading to chaos and trouble.
Last year, director Franklin J. Schaffner shared that the initial script for the film was significantly more somber in its approach.
Gremlins 3 will be released in UK and US cinemas on 19 November, 2027.
