Great British Bake Off to celebrate Christmas with first ever soap-themed special featuring Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars
As an ardent fan of The Great British Bake Off and a long-time viewer of soap operas, I must say that this festive special is shaping up to be an absolute treat! The idea of merging two of my favorite forms of entertainment into one show is simply brilliant.
It’s everyone’s favourite autumn TV show.
This year, The Great British Bake Off is set to return with another holiday-themed edition, however, there’s a major surprise in store!
For the first time ever the one-off episode will be soap themed and feature stars from EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Actors Natalie Cassidy and Dean Gaffney, known for their roles as Sonia Fowler and Robbie Jackson in the TV series EastEnders, will be participating.
Additionally, Chris Bisson (characterized as Jai Sharma) and Sheree Murphy (portraying Tricia Dingle) from the series Emmerdale will also join in.

Coronation Street favourite Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan) completes the epic line up.
A source shared with The Mirror details the upcoming episodes: ‘In the Signature round, contestants are tasked with creating a unique take on the classic yule log dessert. For the Technical challenge, they’ll be required to craft intricate tree structures using meringue.’
Well, here I am, utterly thrilled and brimming with anticipation! The crux of this competition, as always, lies in the grand finale – the Showstopper. This time around, we’re tasked with an exhilarating challenge: to recreate one of our dearest festive soap storylines, but not on the screen, oh no! In the magical realm of biscuits, that’s where! It’s a dream come true for someone like me who adores both soaps and biscuits. Bring it on, I say!
As your trusted lifestyle guide, I can’t help but wonder who might show up next – Will Wellard perhaps? Or maybe Sonia and her trumpet will make an unexpected appearance. It’s even conceivable that we could encounter unique twists of our favorite local haunts, like the Woolpack or the Rovers serving rum’n’raisin instead of their usual fare. After all, in this world of surprises, anything is indeed possible!
The regular lineup for this special event includes Noel Fielding, Alison Hammond as hosts, along with judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.
After Alison was labeled the “greatest addition to The Great British Bake Off” following her amusing fall in Tuesday’s quarterfinals, this occurred.
In this current scenario, the presenter, aged 49, co-hosts the program alongside Noel. During the ’70s-themed week, Alison had a comical tumble that left the audience in fits of laughter.
She was wandering around at the back of the tent when she sat on one of the empty benches and tried to do a leg spin saying she wanted to ‘add some happiness to the task’.

Nevertheless, she stumbled and toppled from the edge, hitting the ground below, causing the bakers to gasp in surprise.
She was so tickled that she couldn’t get up, instead she tumbled about on the ground and exclaimed, “Stay away! Go! I need some space!
Noel then joined her on the floor as he told her: ‘That is the best thing I’ve seen ever!!’
Home viewers found that moment absolutely hilarious, expressing their affection for Alison Hammond on X with posts like:’I adore Alison Hammond! She’s just so carefree – #GBBO.’
Alison Hammond makes Bake Off simply outstanding, and I won’t be swayed on that opinion – she’s incredibly authentic. #GBBO #BakeOff
‘Alison Hammond falling off the kitchen counter, was TV gold lol #GBBO.’,
‘I’m still laughing at Alison Hammond throwing herself over the worktop!’,
‘Alison Hammond is definitely the best thing to happen to Bake Off.’,
‘Live, laugh, love Alison Hammond.’
