The DC Universe could have The Flash for a new generation.
I was so excited to see the incredible fan art @RoyalMaj3sty posted! They reimagined Walker Scobell, who plays Percy Jackson, as Wally West – that’s Kid Flash, one of the heroes who’s been The Flash over the years. It looks amazing, and I had to share it with you all!

The newly revealed DCU artwork follows an interview where actor Jordan Scobell discussed roles he’d love to play in James Gunn’s DC Universe. He specifically mentioned wanting to play Wally West as the Flash, taking over the role after Grant Gustin finished portraying Barry Allen in the Arrowverse.
Walker Scobell: [If] they want to go like a young Wally West, I could do that.
James Gunn has said that DC Studios isn’t currently working on a Flash project, but he enjoys both Barry Allen and Wally West as characters. He jokingly asked about the future of The Flash in the DC Universe in 2025, specifically wondering if they preferred blonde or red-haired speedsters.
Look, when asked about potential actors for the DCU’s Flash, the co-CEO gave a pretty interesting answer – they said they’re open to both blondes and redheads! It definitely got people talking. And honestly, a lot of us fans are really hoping Grant Gustin, who wrapped up his run as The Flash on The CW last year, might get another shot at playing the fastest man alive. He was fantastic in the role, and it would be amazing to see him continue!
The first chapter of the DC Universe, “Gods and Monsters,” shows that many superheroes, like Superman and Batman, are already well-known within this new franchise. Given that there are multiple versions of The Flash in the story, Barry Allen might be quite experienced as the hero by the time we meet him.
Now that HBO’s Lanterns has introduced Hal Jordan as an experienced Green Lantern, it makes sense that Barry Allen might be portrayed as being around the same age. This would naturally allow someone like Wally West to be established as the next Flash. Actor Jaeden Martell has quickly become a fan favorite to play Wally in James Gunn’s DC Universe.
With other projects taking priority at DC Studios, The Flash might appear in smaller roles in future films and TV series. Although previous attempts at Flash-centered movies in the DCEU weren’t very successful, DC Studios hopes to have better luck with the character in the new DCU.
