NPIXEL has revealed that they will be shutting down their inactive Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), Gran Saga, worldwide on April 30, 2025. The game is being closed a mere four months after its global launch in November 2024.
Gran Saga is sunsetting as the devs found it difficult to maintain a continuous stable service
If you’re not already familiar, Gran Saga is a role-playing game set in an expansive open world, categorized as an idle MMORPG. It boasts graphics inspired by Final Fantasy series, offers challenging boss battles, a compelling narrative, customizable characters, and additional engaging features. Additionally, it includes fully-voiced cinematic scenes and cutscenes, along with an original soundtrack composed by the renowned Yoko Shimomura.

regretfully, I’ve got some disappointing news to share from the Gran Saga Global Team – they recently announced on X (previously known as Twitter) that the game will cease operations on April 30, 2025. In light of this announcement, the game is set for a maintenance break on March 6, 2025, which means in-game transactions and new downloads will no longer be available following the maintenance period.
If the game is already installed on your device, you’ll be able to keep enjoying it until its service concludes on April 30, 2025.
In a somewhat positive development, the developers are providing refunds for purchases made, although this might not cover previously used items and could be influenced by app store policies. Refund requests can be submitted before May 30, 2025 for consideration.

It’s truly disheartening that the game has been closed down only four months following its worldwide debut. Although some enthusiasts are dismayed by this turn of events, others are attributing the shutdown to ineffective marketing strategies, absence of regional pricing adjustments, and predominantly automated gameplay mechanics. The silver lining is that you can still choose to continue playing in Japan, South Korea, or Southeast Asia.
