Grammy Winner Melody Gardot: ‘Scared, Alone, and Broken’ After Pregnancy Dump
Sting sang ‘I’ll be everything you wanted’ to Melody Gardot in their 2021 duet Little Something.
But the American jazz star has been left singing the blues after heartbreak in her private life.
It seems Melody found out that her fiancé ended their engagement, as she was expecting their first child after five months of pregnancy.
The Grammy-winning individual verifies that their partner left during the pregnancy, which was around the 20-week mark. At 40 years old, this pregnancy has attracted scrutiny, but they are determined not to allow a man to transform a miracle into an error.
She comments about the man, choosing not to reveal his identity: ‘I can’t accept that I picked the wrong companion. On the contrary, I am certain I selected the ideal individual. However, unfortunately, he eventually selected someone else – himself.’
This week, Melody has been scheduled to grace the Jazz FM awards in London. She’s set to collect the Gold accolade there, recognizing her significant contributions to music.
The singer, who now sports dark sunglasses due to light sensitivity from a car accident in her younger years, confesses that she had to return her wedding dress.
In this difficult situation, she shares online that she’s had to send back her wedding dress. Her tears have swollen her eyes almost beyond recognition. She feels fragmented despite growing larger day by day. She gazes at her belly with a sense of trepidation, unsure of the future. Fearful, isolated, and shattered are how she describes herself.

Melody has faced traumatic experiences in her romantic relationships before. Back in 2019, she disclosed that her engagement ended due to being a victim of domestic violence by a former partner.
Sting, the lead singer of the Police, has shared that he developed a close connection with Melody from Paris through their shared humor, which occasionally veered towards more risqué topics.
‘We met and we really got on,’ Sting says. ‘We had a joke-telling competition, I think she won.’
When Alex Jones from The One Show requested her to retell the joke, Melody cautioned, “It’s not suitable for broadcast, dear.
Superfit Iris proves she can put herself in pole position
It’s anticipated that Liverpool’s standout player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, will move to Real Madrid towards the end of the season. Meanwhile, it seems that his former partner, Iris Law, is open to exploring fresh opportunities too.
24-year-old model Iris, daughter of Hollywood’s Jude Law and actress Sadie Frost, has recently picked up pole dancing and posted a video online to demonstrate her new skill. The video showcases Iris performing an impressive move known as the ‘side-saddle superman’, where she raises her legs behind her to fly horizontally through the air, displaying her remarkable agility.
Previously, Iris mentioned that she enjoys working out using a treadmill, cycling classes, and hot yoga sessions as part of her fitness routine.

William and Kate’s family service
Instead of attending the Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle alongside the King and Queen, as is customary, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opted to deviate from tradition.
But our next Supreme Governor of the Church of England and his wife did still celebrate elsewhere.
It’s said that Prince William, his wife Catherine, and their three offspring visited the St Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham over the Easter weekend.
During their vacation, the family—residing at their private residence, Anmer Hall, located within a secluded Norfolk estate—was graced by the presence of Catherine’s beloved parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

In the story of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the character played by Timothy Spall, Peter Pettigrew, had the magical ability to transform himself from a human into a rat.
Off screen, the Bafta-winning actor has been changing shape, too.
68-year-old Spall shares that he desired to shed some pounds for a specific role, so he abstained from consuming wine, which in turn helped him control his eating habits.
As the pounds melted away, I discovered new contours that I hadn’t seen in myself before. Interestingly enough, I find myself immersed in the filming of a Netflix production titled “Goodbye June,” directed by the talented Kate Winslet. For this role, I’ve had to adopt an entirely different approach, adding weight through the use of a wearable belly prosthesis.

Actress Lesley Joseph, best known from Birds of a Feather, cherishes a special moment she shared with the late Pope Francis during the 2019 BBC series Pilgrimage: The Road to Rome.
During filming, Lesley had the opportunity to meet with the Pope, who complimented her by saying, “You don’t seem 72 years old.
After receiving a warm farewell hug and cheek kiss from the Pope during his audience, Lesley commented, “He started laughing and said, ‘You don’t seem 72 years old.’ At that moment, I touched his arm and replied, ‘Oh, how kind of you!’ Everyone burst into laughter. ‘I can’t believe you just blessed the Pope,'” she added.

Damian: Live life to the full as a defence against grief
In 2021, the actress who played a significant role in Peaky Blinders, Helen McCrory, passed away due to cancer. Now, her husband, Damian Lewis, has shared his feelings about this loss.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some intriguing insights from our beloved Lewis, age 54, regarding human psychology. He discusses a familiar emotional state often experienced in grief or after trauma, which is referred to as the “manic defense.
‘I exhibit a strong manifestation of the manic defense, characterized by an affirmative approach to life. Despite occasional days where I feel completely drained and overwhelmed, showing signs of crying, there’s this resilient spirit within me that urges, “Keep living, push forward, and reaffirm your existence.”‘
Damian, who has two teenagers with Helen, adds: ‘Life is there for the taking, to be lived.
When you’re raising two kids, it’s crucial to ensure they understand that life continues, even in challenging times.

According to Gary Kemp, former member of Spandau Ballet, the British entertainment industry continues to harbor a sense of snobbery, often excluding actors from lead roles due to their distinctive accents.
65-year-old stage and screen actor notes that actors from working-class backgrounds, particularly those in London, often face challenges. They are often stereotyped as comic characters, cockneys, or villains, rather than being recognized for their ability to play more complex roles such as Hamlet or other challenging characters.
As a child, I appeared in several movies and my authentic accent is quite strong, very much resembling Cockney. Over time, I’ve dedicated effort to improve my speech.
He notes: ‘It’s striking how fixated people are on Received Pronunciation. To my observation, that accent is primarily used by actors and news anchors.’
