Grace Randolph’s Superman Review Flooded by Identical Posts – Are Bots Behind It?
Shortly following Grace Randolph’s proclamation that James Gunn‘s Superman is the “TOP Superman film so far,” her sentiment was echoed consistently by numerous social media users, repeating almost word-for-word, with a flurry of accounts seemingly copying her praises. And when we say identical, we mean absolutely identical.
This is the BEST #Superman movie to date.
When James Gunn gets out of the way & lets his work speak for itself, it’s incredible. 💙💛❤️
It’s not perfect, but darn close
& made me a believer in Gunn’s #DCReview embargo lifts TODAY at 3pm EST
& plenty more #DC videos coming!— Grace Randolph (@GraceRandolph) July 8, 2025
Randolph shared with her over 145k followers that the latest Superman film is the best one yet, in her opinion. She praised director James Gunn, stating that when he allows his work to stand alone, it’s truly remarkable. While she acknowledged that it’s not flawless, she emphasized that it’s nearly perfect and has converted her into a believer of Gunn’s take on DC. The review embargo will be lifted today at 3pm EST, and more DC-related videos are on the way!
The post sparked rapidly, amassing over a million views and even capturing the interest of the movie’s official social media platform. In a public response, the authentic Superman X account addressed Randolph directly.

Your #Superman post really caught our attention, and we’d be thrilled to feature some or even all of it in our upcoming marketing campaigns! If you’re okay with that, please let us know by saying ‘yes’. We appreciate your cooperation!
Randolph enthusiastically agreed.
Within a short span of time, vigilant users started spotting unusual activities. A series of lesser-known accounts, showing characteristics typical of automated systems, started sharing Randolph’s message verbatim. While some tweaked emojis or changed hashtags, the overall structure, grammar, and phrasing were strikingly similar across posts. In certain instances, even punctuation and line breaks were kept intact.
It appears that someone neglected to inform Lex Luthor’s troop of monkeys to avoid overwhelming social media with promotions for the latest Superman film.
Tip for you, Lex: next time, try being less obvious.

YouTuber MasterofTheTDS, who is known for tracking bot activity related to Hollywood releases and co-hosts the Gothic Therapy channel, pointed out a trend he noticed. In a post on X, he showcased several instances that seem like synchronized praise from bots overwhelming the #Superman hashtag just before the review embargo was lifted.
Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon Screenings, and the Marketing Blitz
The unusual surge of posts is happening simultaneously with a wider effort to generate support for James Gunn’s DC reboot. Currently, Superman boasts an 85% critical rating and a 96% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, figures that are undeniably impressive but may change once the film gets its complete wide release.

Predictions for the movie’s initial box office earnings show considerable variation, spanning from a potential $90 million to as much as $130 million within the U.S. Warner Bros. Discovery has allegedly invested substantial funds in the film’s launch, which includes a marketing approach heavily focused on social media platforms.
Coincidence or Copycat Campaign?
It should be noted that it hasn’t been proven that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) manipulated the posts imitating Randolph’s review of Superman, using automated accounts (bots), for the purpose of positive endorsement.
But the sheer volume, coordination, and uniformity of the reposts raise fair questions.
Is this a genuine, grassroots surge of fan excitement, or could it be that someone is attempting to artificially create agreement with the intention of influencing public sentiment?

In today’s era of artificial intelligence-made images, misleading reviews, and paid collaborations among influencers, it’s important to consider some thought-provoking questions. For years, the entertainment sector has relied on clever marketing tactics to create hype. However, when marketing strategies start to overlap with manipulation, viewers tend to catch on.
At present, everyone is keeping a close watch on the upcoming release of Superman. It remains to be seen if the movie’s storyline will fly high by itself or if it will require assistance from computer algorithms. This secret can only be unveiled by the passage of time and the weekend box office results.
