As a dedicated gamer and avid follower of Hollywood news, I’m always excited to learn about new projects from my favorite actors and actresses. And today, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates on Leighton Meester‘s latest ventures.
Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester has landed her next TV role in a new comedy.
Based on Variety’s report, Meester and Quenlin Blackwell are set to make appearances in the pilot episode of Rachel Sennott’s upcoming HBO series.
A friend group that was once codependent comes back together, figuring out how their individual experiences of time away, personal growth, and new connections have transformed each of them.
In addition to acting in the newest show, Sennott takes on the roles of writer and executive producer for the pilot episode. The quartet of Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker have also been revealed as part of the cast.
Recently, Meester appeared in the new series “How I Met Your Father” and the Christmas movie “EXmas,” acting alongside Robbie Amell. Simultaneously, Sennott collaborated on and acted in the comedy film “Bottoms.” Notable cast member Ayo Edebiri of “The Bear” was included in this production.
In contrast to her new colleagues who have acting experience, Blackwell is set to make her professional acting debut in the upcoming comedy pilot. Despite being recognized for her influence on YouTube and social media with massive fan bases, she has yet to take on a professional acting role.
In other projects, Meester and her husband Brody have collaborated on a new film titled “River Wild“. Here, they portray former friends whose whitewater rafting excursion takes an unexpected turn, forcing them to fight for survival.
When their rafting adventure takes an unexpected turn and they find themselves caught in turbulent rapids, the experience shifts from exhilarating to heart-poundingly terrifying. As the rafters struggle to survive, it becomes apparent that someone is attempting to sabotage their efforts, determined to keep hidden secrets from coming to light.
To make it through the treacherous whitewater, Joey must conquer her anxieties. meanwhile, we all need to trust our gut and stay alert, as we’re in danger of being misled on the raft or overwhelmed by the destructive forces of the river around us.
The American public can look forward to digitally or physically purchasing “River Wild” starting August 1st. However, a UK release date has yet to be announced.
