Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars saw the quarterfinalists take on the running of the Savoy Grill and it was a mess
As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of reality cooking competitions, I have seen my fair share of kitchen chaos and mishaps. But the latest episode of “Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars” took the cake (or rather, the breakfast dish)!
As the final episode of “Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars” approaches, judges Lisa Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsay have been increasing the difficulty of the challenges. In the quarterfinals, titled “Breakfast Bootcamp,” contestants were given the unusual opportunity to run the Savoy Grill kitchen themselves. If you share our suspicion that this will result in chaos, you would be correct.
It’s worth mentioning that this restaurant belongs to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, and it is known for its rigorous fine dining rules. However, it appears that some Food Stars failed to grasp this concept.
I can’t believe I was witnessing this myself – it’s incredible that Gordon Ramsay trusted these individuals to manage the front of house and even cook in his own kitchen. But what left us utterly shocked was their inability to complete the breakfast service on time, let alone deliver dishes up to par.
Liz not only carelessly dropped a napkin on the floor and subsequently used it to wipe her silverware before serving them to customers, but she also appeared disorganized in managing the service as a whole. Although she lacked prior restaurant experience, the napkin and silverware mishap was unjustifiable. I can relate to feeling flustered, but this incident left me utterly astonished due to its sheer absurdity.
Despite Liz being an issue, there were further complications. Specifically, Nicholas failed to effectively convey orders to the kitchen staff. This miscommunication resulted in several mishaps: a vegan receiving eggs instead of his intended dish, and someone requesting no black pudding getting it before the kitchen rectified the mistake and returned the plate.
It was unexpected that Nicholas, who was so confident in his actions, struggled to express himself. He avoided the kitchen, preferring to keep his skills hidden, which ultimately hindered his ability to demonstrate effective leadership within the restaurant.
During the two-hour service at the Savoy, Gordon Ramsay intervened several times to prevent things from worsening. Sadly, many customers left dissatisfied and agitated, a situation that was unfortunately predictable. In fact, some customers vowed never to return for another breakfast experience after that disappointing event. We can’t fault them for their decision.
It’s hardly shocking that Ramsay wasn’t pleased with the recent events at his restaurant. In fact, we weren’t even expecting things to go smoothly. It’s amazing that things didn’t turn out worse.
In the finale, Liz and Nicholas were the ones eliminated. This outcome didn’t come as a surprise to the viewers. Let’s hope Gordon and Lisa gained some valuable insights from this experience (or perhaps they didn’t).
