Gordon Ramsay details his ‘incredible’ conversations with daughter Holly on the way to her wedding as he shares snaps of himself laughing through THAT controversial speech

Gordon Ramsay recently revealed the heartwarming conversations he had with his daughter, Holly, while driving her to her wedding last month.

On December 27th, a chef gave his daughter away at a beautiful wedding ceremony held at Bath Abbey as she married Adam Peaty.

Despite the wedding’s lavishness and celebrity guests, including Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria, a bitter family argument cast a shadow over the event, resulting in the swimmer’s mother being excluded from the ceremony.

During the wedding reception, Gordon subtly referenced his ongoing disagreement with Adam, making a pointed comment in his speech about how his daughter wouldn’t receive the same level of support from Adam’s family as Adam himself had as an athlete.

Okay, so there’s been a bit of drama surrounding some things said about Adam’s mom – apparently, she was really upset. But honestly, Gordon seems to be handling it by just moving forward and sharing a bunch of lovely photos from the event on Instagram. It’s his way of focusing on the positive, I guess, and not getting bogged down in negativity. As a lifestyle tip, sometimes that’s the best approach – celebrate the good moments and don’t dwell on the drama!

One photo captured the chef laughing while giving a speech, and another showed him in the car with his daughter on their way to the awards ceremony.

Gordon shared a heartfelt post about driving his daughter to her wedding. He described the journey as one of the most special moments of his life, filled with meaningful conversations and helping her feel calm and relaxed before walking down the aisle.

‘@hollyramsaypeaty @adamramsaypeaty @tanaramsay a moment I’ll never ever forget.’

Holly immediately expressed her love for her well-known father, simply writing, ‘I love you dad,’ in the comments.

According to The Sun, Gordon Ramsay complimented Holly on her appearance during his speech at her wedding and told Adam how fortunate he was to be marrying her. He also pointed to Adam’s mother, Tana, saying that was a glimpse of what Adam could expect in the future.

The article also reports that Gordon made a hurtful comment to his daughter Holly about Adam’s parents, saying, ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same [parents].’

After the wedding, it came out that swimmer Adam’s mother was deeply upset and offended by comments Gordon made during his speech, where he brought up their long-standing and difficult family conflict.

According to a family insider, the celebrity chef’s remark during the speech deeply upset her. They believe the comment was intentionally hurtful and pre-planned, describing it as both cruel and very painful.

Gordon reaffirmed his comments from last week’s appearance on This Morning, maintaining that his wedding speech was ‘perfect and heartfelt’.

Gordon admitted it was an emotional experience. As a father to three daughters, he’d always imagined this special moment, but when it actually happened, he found himself overwhelmed with emotion.

The speech went really well – it was exactly what was needed. It’s important to connect with people, be genuine and show emotion. It’s a challenging task, though.

Tilly, his daughter, revealed she’d heard the speech beforehand. She recalled, ‘I believe it was Christmas Eve, and I sat in his room for about an hour while he practiced reading it.’

‘Going through everything but no tweaks were needed, it was perfect. It made everybody cry.’

Holly stood by her father’s wedding speech last week, even though Caroline was upset, explaining that it had made her feel incredibly happy.

Holly shared a picture on British Vogue of herself and Adam happily laughing together while Gordon was giving a speech.

She described listening to her dad’s speech, looking at all the guests, and feeling incredibly happy and loved by everyone there.

Holly recently shared that her parents covered the costs of her and Adam’s honeymoon in Mauritius, calling it their wedding gift – a remark seemingly directed at her strained relationship with her in-laws, the Peaty family.

She explained they were heading to Mauritius for a relaxing beach vacation, a gift from her parents as their wedding present. She also mentioned she had to let her husband, Adam, know their honeymoon wouldn’t revolve around a large swimming pool.

Holly posted several photos from her wedding with a fashion magazine, including a slightly uncomfortable picture of her and her husband Adam with her parents and David and Victoria Beckham.

Since Adam’s parents couldn’t make it to the wedding, they posed for a photo with the groom, joined by Gordon and Tana, and Holly.

Adam didn’t talk about his family or parents during his speech. Instead, he focused on his swim coach, Mel Marshall, describing her as a hugely important influence who kept him grounded and motivated.

Holly shared some details about her wedding, explaining that she and Adam chose George Michael’s “A Different Corner” for their first dance. They actually picked the song early on in their relationship.

She also described her father-daughter dance with Gordon as ‘so special’.

Holly arrived at her wedding in Bath Abbey with her famous chef father, but she dramatically kept her lace wedding dress hidden under a large, flowing ivory cloak.

Over 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion, and was completely overwhelmed with grief.

Standing in front of the house where he spent his childhood, Adam, 59, told The Mail on Sunday he wouldn’t allow himself to be hurt like that again.

She had told Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.

Just before entering the abbey with his five-year-old son George, Adam received a hurtful text message from his aunt Louise, who hadn’t been invited to the wedding. This newspaper has learned the details of this message.

She wrote a message expressing her hope that he would never experience the same intense pain he had caused their mother. Despite everything, she still loved him, and she expressed her disappointment and disapproval of both him and someone else.

On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother. Her heart still aches because of it.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how seemingly small slights can really snowball. In this case, the tension within the Peaty family actually started back in September 2024. Adam and Holly made the decision to have a very intimate engagement party, and unfortunately, that meant excluding a lot of extended family members. That initial decision, while perhaps intended to be a small, private celebration, really set the stage for the conflict we’re seeing now.

Despite driving her son to countless early morning practices for years, Caroline wasn’t included in Holly’s fancy pre-wedding celebration at Soho Farmhouse. The event was attended by the bride’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and other celebrities like Victoria Beckham.
